Thirsty Thursday: Lemon Water

This Summer I can't say I've been eating 100% healthy or drinking enough water like I should have been. The barbecues, birthday parties, the adult beverages, etc., they were delicious treats that eventually added some pounds to my already not so fit body.

It's time to get back on track and that's why this week's Thirsty Thursday is something everyone should be drinking, Lemon Water. If you remember my Sassy Water post, you'll remember that drinking water with lemon can do a number of things for you and in a positive way.

Although lemon is an acidic food, once digested it turns into alkaline, which helps our body by keeping the oxygen in our blood at a safe pH level. This helps our body heal itself and helps fight off unwanted sickness. Drinking lemon water also helps with weight loss. Lemons are high in fiber pectin, which is something that keeps us full longer. It also helps eliminate excess water weight as well. This also works out well for those of you, like myself, that doesn't like drinking plain water, this kicks it up a notch. So wish me luck as I start on my weight loss journey once again. And enjoy these inexpensive, yet delicious drink!
