iRobot® Braava jet™ m6 Review #HolidayGiftGuide

When it comes to mopping, let me tell you, it's not my favourite thing to do. I mean, I love the end results, but as a busy mom of three, sometimes I feel like all I'm doing is constantly cleaning or trying to at least keep the house presentable for my own sanity. I have three kids and an eight month old bernedoodle, so they keep me on my toes when it comes to making sure our floors are clean, especially during the Winter and Spring months.

I shared earlier this week about being sent the Roomba s9+ from iRobot and I'm so excited to share with you all about the Braava jet m6 they sent me as well. The Wi-Fi® connected Braava jet® m6 robot mop delivers fresh, clean floors throughout the entire home – learning, mapping and adapting from room to room. Aimed for multiple rooms and large spaces, it helps tackle all of life’s messes on hard floors. By simply attaching a wet mopping or dry sweeping pad to the robot mop and it automatically takes it from there to give you fresh, clean floors without all the work. Making life easier and giving you more time to enjoy the things you love, like, spending more time with your family.
If you read my review on the Roomba s9+, you'll remember that over the holidays my family and I got the flu and it was basically the entire two weeks of not really having the energy to clean or do anything, but rest so that we would all be good to go when winter break was over. Luckily I had both the Roomba and Braava jet sent to me because as I got the energy to put the dishes in the dishwasher and straighten up some of the rooms in the house, I counted on the Braava jet to clean my floors and it did not disappoint.

It was very easy to set up right out of the box. It came with the mop, the charger, cleaning solution and two dry and wet mop pads to add to the Braava jet giving you the option to do a dry sweep or wet mop to your floors. The Wet Mopping pads have wicking fibers to help break-up sticky messes, grime and kitchen grease and the Dry Sweeping pads use electrostatic force to capture dirt, dust, and (pet) hair.

I was very impressed on how easy it was to put the mop together and get it running. After already having the iRobot app downloaded on my phone, all I had to do was sync the mop to my app and I was ready to have my floors mopped. With it's Precision Jet Spray, it loosens dirt and stains, while Braava jet® pads break up and lock away debris. The m6 comes with bigger pads2 to cover more ground in one pass, and clean larger spaces in less time.

Using the same iAdapt 3.0 Navigation with vSLAM technology and Imprint Smart Mapping as the Roomba s9+, the Braava jet gets to know your home’s floor plan, giving you total control to choose which rooms are cleaned and when. This is one of my all time favorite features on this mop, I love that I can schedule a day and time for my floors to get mopped or if I'm downstairs enjoying some family time or alone time, I can just open my app, hit CLEAN and let the Braava jet m6 go to town on my floors. Once it's down cleaning, it makes its way back to its base where it can recharge for the next time. I also love that this mop has Maximized-Edge design to help the robot get into hard corners and along edges, it really gets into those hard places that are tough to reach and does an amazing job at getting your floors clean.

Another favourite feature is the Easy Pad Ejection button! You never have to touch the dirty cleaning pads again, all you have to do is simply press the button and the pad falls right into the trash. I absolutely love that this is a feature. I've used other mop devices and that was one thing that grossed me out, touching the dirty pads after I was done mopping the floors. This way I don't have to touch the dirty pad and all I have to do is replace it for the next time it runs to clean our floors.

This smart mop has saved me so much time when it comes to getting my house cleaned and allows me to have more time to focus on other things, like, laundry, something else that never seems to end. Looking forward to the day iRobot makes something to help with doing laundry, lol, fingers crossed!

The Braava jet m6 is retailed at $699.99 and available at www.irobot.ca, Amazon, Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond and in major retail stores. You can also purchase the Braava jet m6 Cleaning Pads that are retailed for $9.99 CAD for a box of seven cleaning pads and can be purchased on their website or wherever the Braava jet m6 is sold. Washable wet or dry cleaning pads retail for $34.99 CAD for a box of two pads and are also available on their website.

With all the streaming services popping up lately, it can be hard to make a choice on which ones to subscribe to. Last year we finally said goodbye to cable because although I do love having shows and movies to watch that's automatically playing on the TV, it was getting pricey and I realized we barely watched anything that was on cable unless it was pre-recorded and even then, the shows or movies we recorded would be on our DVR box for months before anyone would watch them.

Last month my family and I were introduced to a new family streaming serviced called, Yippee. For only $7.99 a month, you can enjoy and stream safe, fun, valued-based shows for your family!

Yippee offers family friendly shows from VeggieTales to Youtube shows, there's something for the whole family from toddlers to ten year olds. Yippee offers a secure, curated environment that ensures your kids start out in a safe place and then stay in a safe place while streaming shows.

My husband and I have been showing our kiddos VeggieTales since we became parents almost 15 years ago. It's a show that's entertaining, colorful and always has a lesson to learn. Although my older two kiddos have stopped watching it, it's stilled played for my five year old and she loves this show. Not only does she love VeggieTales, but since we've been watching Yippee this last month, she's found a few other shows that she's been enjoying, like, Jay Jay The Jet Plane, Yancy and Friends and The Yippee Show!

Built on the best tech, you can stream Yippee on your TV, cell phone or computer and on Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Fire TV and Chromecast. Watch where you want, when you want to, including offline downloads.

Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Blu-ray/DVD Review & Giveaway

In Disney's "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," a sequel to the 2014 global box office hit, Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies and dark new forces at play. The years have been kind to Maleficent and Aurora. Their relationship, born of heartbreak, revenge and ultimately love, has flourished. Yet the hatred between man and the fairies still exists. Aurora's impending marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for celebration in the kingdom of Ulstead and the neighboring Moors, as the wedding serves to unite the two worlds. When an unexpected encounter introduces a powerful new alliance, Maleficent and Aurora are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family.

MY REVIEW
In our house we do Disney, big time! We absolutely love watching Disney movies for our family movie night, so when we received Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, I knew we'd love it just as much as we did the first movie. Now although I didn't expect there to be a sequel to the first movie, my family and I were happy to see some of the characters we love back on screen. We sat down together, grabbed some of our favorite snacks to munch on and started the movie.

I thought the story-line to Aurora's wedding to Prince Phillip was done well and of the two kingdoms merging, but then you see the real agenda behind Queen Ingrith. She wants revenge against the Moor's fairies for the death of her brother when he visited Moor years ago and does so by turning the humans against the fairies and starting a war. Michelle Pfeiffer does an amazing job playing this evil queen. I am loving this new spin on Maleficent and how Disney is trying to portray her as misunderstood and have someone else be the "bad guy."

Not only was the movie great, but we loved the bonus features that included extended scenes and outtakes from Aurora's wedding as well as the CGI in this movie, it's beautiful.

In celebration of the release of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil coming out on blu-ray and DVD today, we have teamed up with Disney Canada to offer one of our Canadian readers a chance to win their own copy of the movie. All you have to do is comment below sharing with us who your favourite Disney villain is. Good luck to all!

Roomba s9+ Robot Vacuum w/ Clean Base™ Automatic Dirt Disposal Review #HolidayGiftGuide

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you all had a great time over the holidays. With it being the beginning of the year and New Year Resolutions being made, I've decided not to have a resolution per say, but to have a few different goals to achieve to help make this year a great year for my family and I. One of the things I've written down is to spend more quality time with family, life is too short and if I can save time on other things, like, cleaning, all the better.

So I was very excited when I received the Roomba s9+ from iRobot last month. Let me just say, I've had the Roomba on my wish-list for years, so I was overjoyed to be able to work with them and share with you their latest robot vacuum. The Roomba s9+ includes a clean base that has an automatic dirt disposal, which saves you even more time and gives you less to do. Setting up the vacuum was pretty easy and the instructions were very clear. As I let the vacuum charge, I then downloaded the Roomba app (which is available in both the Apple and Google Play Stores) and set up a free account and synced my device with the app, which again, very easy to do and the instructions are clear. I had no trouble getting this together.

The Roomba comes with the vacuum, the charging station clean base, power cord, two vacuum bags and an extra corner brush. Once charged and synced with your app, you can then either click on the CLEAN button on the vacuum or open up your Roomba app and hit clean for the device to start cleaning your floors. What I love about this is that you can clean your floors from wherever you're at. If you're away, you can even schedule your Roomba to clean on certain days and times or you can just hit the CLEAN button on the app and let the Roomba do its thing.

This vacuum has saved me so much time. We were hit with the flu over the holidays and so cleaning took everything out of me and left me exhausted. The Roomba was my best friend because once I'd load the dishwasher and clean the counters in my kitchen, I was able to go lay down and gets some rest, but not before opening the Roomba app on my phone and having it clean the floors. Another great feature in this vacuum is that it has an automatic dirt disposal in the charging station. So once the Roomba has fully cleaned your room and heads back to the charging station, the clean base automatically kicks on and gets the trash that the Roomba has collected so that it's ready to go for the next time.

With its advanced 3D sensors, the Roomba s9+ can memorize each room and the layout so that it cleans the floors in your home fully. It also constantly scans what's immediately ahead of the Roomba at a rate of 25 times per second to help get deep into corners, along edges and clean large areas efficiently.

Unlike the previous devices, the Roomba s9+ now can hug edges and gets into corners with new Perfect Edge Technology that finds dirt wherever it hides. It also offers the most powerful cleaning throughout the entire home with 40X the suction over previous generation Roomba vacuum. It also includes an Anti-Allergen System that traps and locks dirt, debris and allergens from escaping from the robot or its Clean Base, preventing the release of dirty air back into the home.

The Roomba s9+ is  30 percent wider and with the 2 Dual Rubber Brushes provides more cleaning with every pass. Each brush is uniquely designed with rubber treads that stay in constant contact with different floor surfaces – from hard floors to carpets. The specially designed Corner Brush uses five 30mm arms to grab dirt and debris from deep in corners and along walls, directing it into the robot’s path to be vacuumed up.

My entire family has been so impressed with the s9+ and although you would think, yes you're saving time, but is it making you lazy because you now have a device to clean your floors for you. Well, if you're thinking that, I'd have to say if anything, having the Roomba in our home has done the opposite. Because we are depending on this smart device to clean our floors, we want it to do the best job it can and so I've found that my kids, husband and myself have been picking up more so that the Roomba can fully clean each room.

We have a three level split home, so the first level when walking into our home is our dinning room and kitchen. I have our Roomba stationed in our dinning room since both rooms are where the most traffic for food are. When I want it to clean my living room, I take it downstairs manually and hit the CLEAN button and let the Roomba do its thing.

I can't tell you enough how helpful and amazing the s9+ has been. It's even got my teens more excited to do their chores, which is always a bonus. Another thing about this amazing vacuum is that as it's cleaning, it's creating a map of each room so that it cleans each room better and better as it remembers the floor plans with its Imprint Smart Mapping, learning our home's floor plan to determine the best way to clean each room. With Wi-Fi connectivity, the s9+ lets you customize cleaning with the iRobot HOME App or control it hands-free with Alexa enabled devices and the Google Assistant. This was something my son was all too excited about because he received an Alexa as one of his gifts at Christmas and he loves that he can tell Alexa to enable the Roomba.

The Roomba s9+ is retailed for $1,649.99 CAD and is available on their website or in major retail stores like, Best Buy, Coscto, Canadian Tire, Bed Bath & Beyond and Lowes. The Roomba s9+ robot vacuum can also be purchased without the Clean Base™ starting at $1,299.99 CAD. The Clean Base™ with Automatic Dirt Disposal for Roomba s9 is sold separately for $499.99 CAD and additional Dirt Disposal Bags can be purchased for $19.99 CAD for a pack of three bags.

Now I know that the price of the s9+ may be too expensive and that's okay, the previous models of the Roomba are a bit more affordable.

Roomba i7+ - $1,299
Roomba i7 - $949
Roomba 960 - $799
Roomba e5 - $499
