Obasan Doggy Bed Review & Giveaway

My family was given the pleasure of reviewing a doggy bed from Obasan. Obasan makes customized mattresses from the finest organic and ethically sourced materials and are now offering new colors to their doggy beds made with the same love and care. A little bit more about what the beds feature:

- Filled with shredded organic cotton and wool
- Organic fibers breathe, keeping your animal cool and comfortable
- Organic wool is naturally anti-bacterial
- Organic wool is moisture absorbent, keeps your animal dry
- Great for young to old dogs that need extra padding for their sore joints
- Covered with a stylish organic cotton canvas color
- 3 Colors to choose from: olive, brown and charcoal
- Cover is removable for easy machine wash
- Core can be aired out, or replacement cores can be purchased
- Hand made in our all-organic factory using the same fibers used in your organic mattress

There are three different color beds and sizes to choose from, olive, brown and charcoal. We got a chance to review the chocolate medium size doggy bed which also had our dog, Izzy's, name embroidered on the bed, which was such a nice surprise. Not only did my dog fall in love with this bed, but so did my kiddos. As soon as we opened the box and unwrapped the bed, Izzy layed down and a minute later we heard her snoring. (lol) What I love most about the bed is how easy it is to clean. We've had the bed for almost two weeks now, so last night I decided to test out the cover of the bed in the wash. The cover of the bed was very easy to remove and easy to put back on. I also noticed that after washing the cover of the bed, there was no fade to it, which made me love it even more and I was very happy with the results.

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received a medium doggy bed at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received. A big thank you to Obasan for providing the giveaway prize!

White Chocolate Craberry Cookies

Wow, we haven't posted in a couple of days. I apologize, with DH working overtime this last week I have been left with little to no time to blog, but hopefully by the end of this week things can start to get back to normal.

I've made these twice in the last couple of weeks. I was suppose to share them last week and they were all completely gone before I got a chance too! So I decided to make them again. I first tried these cookies at a Cookie Exchange Party, they were so yummy and my all time favorite of all the cookies I had received. So with that being said here is the recipe in case you'd like to try making some of these delicious goodies. Enjoy!

White Chocolate Craberry Cookies

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 package white chocolate chips
1 cup of dried cranberries

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Mix the first 3 ingredient in small bowl
In large bowl mix next four
Beat in eggs
Add dry mixture
Fold in chip n' berries.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

The Sitting Swing

Title: The Sitting Swing
By: Irene Watson
Publisher: Love Healing Press
Publication Date: July 16, 2008
  IBSN: 978-1932690675
Pages: 248

Irene Watson's pretentious life could go no further until she faced her past. Her moving and inspiring memoir begins at the end, in a recovery center, where she has gone to understand a childhood fraught with abuse, guilt, and uncertainty.
Two distinct parts of the book look at abusive child rearing and the process of recovery years later. This story shows change, growth, and forgiveness are possible. It gives hope and freedom to those accepting the past and re-writing life scripts that have been passed down for generations. It's never too late to change your life, never too late to heal.

I have a great respect for the faith and belief systems of others.  I also have a great respect for those so willing to layout their life story and aspire to reach for their life’s ambitions.  That is essentially what this story is about.  Personally, I wasn’t inspired so much by the story or the miracle of Avalon.  While I can appreciate the soul put into writing this book, I can’t in good conscious, say that I was inspired.
