Learning Science While Watching Netflix #StreamTeam

Although March Break is now over and our house is now back to normal with both the kids being back in school and the cold and flu leaving our house, it's time to start learning again.

One of the things I love to do with my kids is make science happen with random items in our house. With just a simple Google search you can find tons of experiments that are kid friendly. Luckily for us my daughter received a science kit a few years ago for her birthday and still has it. Included in the kit are lots of different tools to use, but there is also a pamphlet that shares over 75 different science experiments to try.

It's always fun to try different experiments, but it's also great to watch them as well. I absolutely love watching PBS experiment shows with my kids and now with having a subscription to Netflix, we can watch some of them any time we want. It's great to watch these shows with your kids, not only for them, but also for you as well. There are lots of things we tend to forget as adults and a lot of different experiments we didn't know about. It's always fun to watch these with the kiddos and if we can, try them out on our own.

Below are a few great science shows that are available on Netflix for your kiddos to watch. Why not make it a family night and watch a few shows together and try a few experiments together at home?

Stuffy Nose, Go Away! #BoogieWipes

This last month has been an absolute nightmare. I'm saying this because my entire household took turns being sick. There's five of us. Whether it was the flu, stuffy/runny nose or a cold, someone in my house had it. I don't know if it's because of the changes in the seasons, but I am sure glad that it's over.

Other then medicine, drinking lots of fluids and making sure we all got plenty of rest, Boogie Wipes helped us out a lot! I've talked about using Boogie Wipes on the blog before, and boy did we use them. I was sent a few containers of wipes and some of their new Boogie Mist as part of being a blogger of their Kandoo Ambassador Program. This is our second year being part of this program and I'm thrilled to work with Kandoo again as well as share with you all how you can use their products for your little ones.

If you have yet to try Boogie Wipes in your household, let me just say you're missing out. These wipes are made with Natural Saline that help dissolve mucus that's caused by the common cold. They're hypoallergenic so all kids can use them.

These wipes make it easier for kids to clean their nose when sick without leaving it red or sore because Boogie Wipes contains Vitamin E, Aloe and Chamomile on them to help moisturize the skin. They come in They come in Fresh Scent, Grape and Unscented and come in a pack of 30 count or in a 90 count canister. What I love about the 30 pack is that I can take them with me on the go or pack them in my kid's backpack so they can use them at school.

Along with the wipes, I also used Boogie Mist, for my kiddos. They weren't a fan of it at first because they thought it was going to be painful when I used it on them, but after the process was done and they felt the results of their nose being less stuffy and it not being painful, getting them to do it a second time was easy as pie.

The Boogie Mist comes in Fresh Scent, Grape and Unscented as well. It's a sterile saline spray that helps thin out the thick mucus that’s making it hard for your child to breathe. This will then allow for your child to then blow their nose with the Boogie Wipes and breathe a lot better.

Now that we're all feeling better and at the end of March, I have to say I am definitely looking forward to Spring Cleaning to rid our house of any germs that may be laying around!
For more information about both Boogie Wipes and Boogie Mist and where you can purchase them, you can head on over to www.boogiewipes.com.

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy: The Complete Series, a 5-DVD box set that contains all 45 episodes of the iconic show’s seventh season.
MY REVIEW
My daughter is a HUGE fan of Power Rangers. When I say huge fan, I mean, she looks up youtube made videos of her favorite Power Ranger couples and watches them constantly. It's pretty impressive how far Power Rangers has come since I was a kid. There has been so many different ones and she has watched them all, except for Lost Galaxy. So when we had a chance to review the complete series of Lost Galaxy, I knew I had to get it. She absolutely loved the series. It didn't take her long to watch at all either. The entire series has over 15 hours and she watched every bit of it. She also was home from March Break and was sick, so that had a lot to do with her finishing it so fast, but she loved watching every bit of it. She loved the way the Power Rangers came together to become the Galaxy Rangers.

If you are a part of the love for the Power Rangers, this is an absolute must have in your collection. It's filled with action and new villains that the rangers have to face. The Lost Galaxy is now out on DVD. For more info on The Lost Galaxy and other Power Rangers DVD's be sure to head over to www.ShoutFactory.com

Treehouse Ultimate Collection Cube & Zack & Quack: Popping Hopping Easter DVD (Review & Giveaway)

Treehouse TV has been a staple in our home since before oldest, who is now 9, could crawl. With shows that have been around that have helped teach my older two kids manners, how to share and be kind to one another, it's no wonder that nine years later, with my seven month old, I can still count on Treehouse.
My seven month old has now become amazed by shows that we put on our TV these last couple of months. Treehouse is on our television daily. Her favorite show that she laughs and crawls to when it comes on right now is Toopy and Binoo. It doesn't surprise me one bit. My oldest two kids loved this show when they were younger and will still gladly watch it if it's on when they get home from school.

So when we were sent the Treehouse Ultimate Collection Cube that included ten of my kid's favorite Treehouse shows, my family and I were thrilled. This collection includes over 100 of the best Treehouse episodes that your little one already wants to watch over and over again that include their favorite characters, like, Toopy, Binoo, Franklin, Max, Ruby, Brother Bear, Captain Barnacles, Kwazii, Golias and Nessa.

I was surprised to see how much my older two wanted to watch the shows when we got the cube out. I can honestly say Toopy and Binoo and My Big Big Friend has been played numerous times. I have their theme songs stuck in my head and I don't mind at all.

With Easter around the corner the Treehouse Ultimate Collection Cube is a great gift to give your family. Along with Zack & Quack: Popping Hopping Easter, these DVD's would make a perfect gift.

We were also sent Zack & Quack on DVD as well and since it's been March break in our house, this DVD has been played a few times as well. The Zack & Quack DVD comes with five episodes. The series follows the adventures of a dynamic boy named Zack & his best friend, an impulsive young duck, called Quack. They live inside the most amazing pop-up book ever! It's a place full of fantastical surprises where pulling pop-ups makes exciting and unexpected things happen.
I absolutely love that all three of my kids, with their age gaps, can sit and watch shows together.

So gather around the TV this Easter and enjoy a 10 hour Treehouse marathon with the kiddos and while you're at it, pop in the Zack & Quack Popping Hopping Easter as well.

Both the Treehouse Collection and Zack & Quack DVDs are now out in stores for purchase. For more information on these DVDs and others like them be sure to check out Kaboom Entertainment on Facebook and Twitter

Netflix Original Series: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt #StreamTeam

Have you guys streamed the new Netflix Original Series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt yet? Let me just give you a heads up that if you were a fan of 30 Rock, The Mindy Project or The Office you're going to love this show. Now, I was a huge fan of the character, Erin, from The Office. She was a bit ditsy, clumsy and out there, but she also was hilarious and had a big heart. So when I saw that the hilarious actress, Ellie Kemp, who played Erin would be starring in her own show, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, I knew I Would love it.

About The Show:
After being rescued from an underground bunker where she stayed the past 15 years in, Kimmy Schmidt decides to live in New York to have a normal life. She makes friends with her new roommate Titus, and works as a babysitter for Jacqueline Voorhees, a wife of a millionaire which has many issues. While many obstacles are thrown in her way, Kimmy makes the best of her new life while having to adapt to the new world.

My Thoughts:
Being that I am part of the Netflix Stream Team, I was able to watch season one before it went streaming on Netflix for everyone to view and let me just say that I was laughing hysterically at my desk watching the show. If you want to know what a girl straight out of the 90's would do in today's selfie crazed society that we're in now, this is a must see.

The show follows Kimmy after she is rescued from a cult and decides to live in New York City. She finds a crazy, drama filled roommate, Tituss, to live with and becomes a nanny for a rich family. Between helping the family she works solve their many problems and helping her roommate trying to land an audition for just about anything, Kimmy is still trying to figure out herself and what she wants in life. She refers to one of the books from The Babysitters Club (an overdue library book she's had since before she was kidnapped) for lots of problems that she face in today's world. It's awesome because the lessons she takes from the book help her with tough decisions she has to make.

This show starts off kind of slow, just like every show does. It takes a bit to get use to and if you don't like comedy, this may not be the show for you, but it is a great show that I'm already looking forward to season two. It's hilarious, cheesy and randomly has 90's phrases we use to say back in the day. I love it!

Hey Dude: The Complete Series DVD Review

Yippee-kai-aie-ay!

Come on down to the Bar None Ranch, where well-meaning owner Mr. Ernst (David Brisbin) tries his best to ride herd on his teenage staff, who always seem to be getting into some sort of scrape or other as they work and play on the range.

Hey Dude stars Christine Taylor as lifeguard Melody, David Lascher as senior staff member Ted, Kelly Brown as horse trainer Brad, Joe Torres as the easygoing Danny, Debra Kalman as ranch hand Lucy and Josh Tygiel as Ernst’s son, Buddy.

Hey Dude ran on Nickelodeon from 1989 – 1991 and has since become a cult sitcom favorite. The Complete Series, features all 65 episodes of the fan-favorite series.

MY REVIEW
Oh goodness does this bring back memories! This was one of my favorite shows to watch when I was younger. I remember thinking, "I want to work on a ranch too," as I got to watch a group of teenage kids come together while working on a ranch and getting into some type of situation.

Fast forward and watching it now, the hubby and I laugh as we watch the first episode. Kids are completely different now. I wonder how a show like Hey Dude would work in today's tech-savvy society. It was great to re-live a moment on a show where there was no Facebook or Instagram. Where kids had to actually talk things out face to face when faced with a problem. It was a great show and I do remember feeling pretty bummed when it ended.

If you were a fan of the show back then, you'll be happy to know that you can now get the entire series on DVD thanks to Shout Factory

@SpongeBob HeroPants (Xbox 360 Review & Giveaway)

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!

My kids are huge fans of the hit television animated series, Spongebob Sqaurepants. Even if you're not a fan or don't watch the show, I can almost bet that you know the theme song. Kids are always singing it, adults sometimes too.

We had the opportunity to review the new video-game, Spongebob HeroPants, based on the new movie, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, that was released last month. My kids were super excited when the game came in the mail and went straight to our Xbox 360 in our game room to play it.

SpongeBob HeroPants is an action game with a focus on exploration, light puzzles and combat. Each of its six playable characters–SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs and Plankton–can morph into a unique superpowered champion to solve challenges, unlock new areas and defeat SpongeBob's crazy imagination. The full adventure features boss battles, upgradeable skills and a treasure trove of hidden items to unearth. It also includes four-person local drop-in/drop-out cooperative multiplayer on Xbox 360.

My kids found the game fun, easy and exciting. What I love about the game is that you can play up to four players and right off the bat you can choose which one of your favorite characters you want to play as, My two older kids had a blast playing together. Since we only have two controllers for the Xbox 360, the hubby and I took turns playing as well. We found the game really easy, but it was awesome to see each character morph into their superpowered self.

There are three worlds to complete with 15 levels that aren't too long to get through. While you're completing the levels you can collect coins that will allow you to upgrade as well as earn trophies. The game was really easy to complete, which is great for a younger kids playing. It was a great family that the entire family enjoyed. I think the only thing I would have liked to see on this game was a bit more better graphics. Other then that, I thought this was a great game for my kiddos.

Spongebob HeroPants is now available on Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita. For more information about this game be sure to head over to www.activision.com/games.

Taking Care of Your Dog This Winter #Petcurean

Hello my lovely readers. I'm very excited and happy to announce that Just Us Girls is teaming up with Petcurean, a Canadian owned family business that brings their customers premium pet food for dogs and cats. Over the next several months we'll be sharing with you tips and recipes to help keep your fur family members healthy and safe.

If you've been a long time reader here at Just Us Girls or a follower on Instagram, you'd remember that we use to have a Boston Terrier named Izzy. Sadly she is no longer with my family. We do however have a new fur family member, a Blue Heeler, puppy. His name is Max and he is just over a year old. He was born last February. We received him in April, so our anniversary with him is coming up. My kiddos are very excited to make special dog treats for him and I'm excited to try some new recipes with him thanks to Petcurean.

Winter may be almost over, but those of us that are on the East Coast know that we still have to worry about the cold weather and snow. It doesn't seem like it will be getting warmer any time soon. Although Max is an inside dog, he still loves the outside and he's outside more during the warmer seasons. With the weather being this cold we try not to have him out more then 20 minutes at a time during the day. It's normally less than that because he is not a fan of the cold, neither am I. Twenty minutes gives Max plenty of time to take care of business and to run around for a bit, he loves playing in the snow.

It takes more energy to stay warm when it's cold outside for animals, so make sure they have plenty of water to stay hydrated and also make sure to not leave their water outside. It can easily freeze and no dog wants to chew frozen ice to get to their water.

Dogs that are mainly outdoor pets eat more during the winter and those that are mainly indoor dogs have different needs when it comes with feeding them. Indoor dogs conserve energy by sleeping more. Dogs also exercise much less when they do go outside, so you may need to adjust the amount of food you give your pet so they don't gain too much weight.

For information about choosing the right food for your pet, be sure to head over to www.petcurean.com
