Family Game Night with Mattel #ReconnectWithGames (Review&Giveaway)

Spending quality time with family and friends and spending less time on my phone has been a goal of mine over the last couple of years. It's been a challenge, but I've noticed a big difference with my family when we put our screens down and make time for one another face to face. Whether it's our weekly movie nights or our family game nights, we try to make sure that when we are all together, we're actually all present as there is a big difference.

I was super excited to get the opportunity to work with Mattel and their #ReconnectWithGames movement, bringing family and friends together with their iconic board games. We were sent Pictionary, Balderdash and Mad Gab a few weeks ago, right before Easter and I have to say it was so much fun having the family over for Easter dinner and playing some awesome board games afterwards. Besides taking video and pictures, all phones were down and we got to really hangout and play with one another and it was wonderful.

Balderdash game features interesting, unbelievably true content and categories about people, words, initials and movies. Once a category is chosen and the question is read, each player writes down what they think the definition or answer to the question is. The real fun begins when the phony definitions are read along with the legitimate ones! You will be sure to laugh out loud as you hear the hilarious and creative definitions! Balderdash is retailed for $24.99.

We've played Balderdash a few times before over the last few years and it is always a good time. It was awesome to see the game revamped with a new look. It's so much fun to play and to see what everyone comes up with and if they're bluffing or not about their definitions.

It’s not what you say, it’s what you hear. In Mad Gab, teams work to decipher groups of unrelated words into real phrases before time runs out. It’s a game sure to spur laughter as friends speak this strange language and then say the answer without even knowing it! Mad Gab is retailed for $14.99.

Mad Gab was an awesome game to play as well, kind of reminding us of the childhood game, telephone, Mad Gab is all about what you hear. It's so much fun to play together, we couldn't stop laughing at one another.

The last game we received was Pictionary. Pictionary has always been a favorite of mine, but I haven't played in years, so seeing how the game was revamped and how updated it was for the whole family to play was pretty awesome. Be sure to head to our Instagram stories to see how we had everyone from kids to adults playing together.

In this quick-draw classic, the guesses can be just as hilarious as the sketches, making it the perfect way to get the party started. Pictionary now includes two erasable markers, boards for drawing and an updated Pop Culture category of clues. Year after year, since 1985, Pictionary has proven itself to be the ultimate party game! Pictionary is retailed for $29.99.

There's nothing like hanging out with your family and friends and being in the moment. Life is short, enjoy one another's company and take a break from that screen every once in a while, everything will still be there when you decide to pick up your phone and check out what's new on social media.

We're really excited to team up with Mattel again to offer one of our Canadian readers a chance to win Mad Gab and Balderdash. Comment below and share with us what board game you love playing with your family and friends.

Balderdash, Mad Gab and Pictionary can all be purchased at Indigo, Toys R Us, Walmart and Amazon and for more information about these games, be sure to head over to MATTEL!

Mattel Games For Your Next Road-Trip! (Review & Giveaway)

Around this time of year, the husband and I usually already have a plan on what we want to do with the kiddos for our summer trip. We try to go somewhere together at least once during the summer to spend some fun quality family time with each other. We try to go somewhere that's affordable and not too expensive as all of our kiddos are summer babies. This year we're looking for something that's not too long of a drive because last year we did a road trip to Alabama for a family reunion and that took about 3 days to get there with stopping at night to sleep. This year we want to go somewhere that's a little bit closer to home and not as expensive as our oldest is graduating from grade eight and we're having family from out of the country come visit.

As a mom of three, I try to pack everything we need during road trips to make sure our drive and hotel stay is as comfortable as possible when we're away from home. This includes bringing lots of snacks to munch on, a few toys for my youngest to keep busy, electronics to entertain all three kiddos with movies and music they can watch and listen to while we're on the road and also games to play while we're staying in the hotel. This gives us something to do at night before falling asleep instead of just watching the hotel TV or being on our phones the entire time.

We love bringing card games with us as they don't take up much room and can easily fit in my purse to play just about anywhere.

If you follow us on Instagram, I shared a few weeks ago in our stories that we were sent some card games and board games from Mattel. They sent us Skip-Bo, Uno and the newest game, Dos. Uno and Skip-Bo has been a family favorite for years and we play it at least once a month with the kids when we have a family game night.

Skip-Bo is the ultimate sequencing card game from the makers of UNO! The Ski—Bo “wild” cards break up static situations and may be played as any number. Use these cards wisely, the first player to deplete all of his or her Skip-Bo stockpile cards is the winner. Skip-Bo is retailed for $12.99.

UNO is the classic card game that’s easy to pick up and impossible to put down! When you’re down to one card, don’t forget to shout “UNO”! The first player to rid themselves of all the cards in their hand before their opponents wins. It’s fast fun for everyone and retailed for $8.99.

UNO has a new best friend, DOS! In this fun game, two is more important than one and numbers are king! Just like UNO, DOS is a race to get rid of your cards before your competitors do. The first person to 200 points is the winner! In a fun twist, now when you’re down to two cards, don’t forget to yell “DOS!”. DOS is retailed for $8.99.

All three games have been played a number of times with the family and the newest game DOS is pretty fun to play. We had a blast learning the rules and playing the sister game to UNO with the kids. It's a bit different than UNO, but just as fun and entertaining.  It's become one of our favorite card games to play with the kids and I can't wait to take it with us during our trip this summer.

We're excited and have teamed up with Mattel to offer one of our Canadian readers a chance to win all three card games to enjoy and take with your family on your next road trip. Comment below and share with us your go to essentials to pack when going on a road trip.

UNO, DOS and Skip-Bo can all be purchased at Indigo, Toys R Us, Walmart and Amazon and for more information about these games, be sure to head over to MATTEL!

Deponia Doomsday PS4 Game Review

The flying city of Elysium has fallen, hideous Fewlocks inhabit the junk planet Deponia and Rufus is apparently the sole (human) survivor. He sees only one way out: Deponia must be blown up.

Terrified, Rufus awakes in his bed. Was that a dream or a vision? Fortunately, Rufus can check this right away as the oddball Professor McChronicle has detected several time anomalies. It's rather handy that Rufus finds a time machine and immediately sets out to duly muddle up the past, present and future.

  • Dystopia vs. Utopia mixed with Neill Blomkamp's Elysium and Christopher Nolan's Interstellar – Welcome to Deponia Doomsday!
  • Fan service: Some players called for an alternate ending and another part to the Deponia saga
  • Goal, Lonzo, Lotti and even Wenzel – Reunions with familiar and over 70 new oddball characters
  • The player discovers the floating city of Elysium for the first time
  • With around 20 hours of gameplay and over 100 game backgrounds, Deponia Doomsday is the largest and most elaborate Deponia game so far

We had the opportunity to try out the last game in the Deponia trilogy series, Doomsday on Playstation 4. Being that my family and I absolutely love playing video games, I thought it would be great to give this one a try as it seemed pretty cool and looked interesting.

When first starting the game, we are starting off in a dream scene that also doubles as a tutorial on how to move around the game. I thought this was really helpful as I had never played any of the other Deponia games before, so having that dream scene in the beginning was helpful. Once this is completed the next scene we see the main character, Rufus, as he is waking up from the dream and confused as to what just happened.

As we started to play this game, I loved how it was easy to pick up items to add to your inventory and use them throughout your adventure to help you along the way. Not only that, but some items you pick up to add to your inventory will work together to help you move along.

Not only was the game fun to play, it was easy to figure out and play being that it was a lot of point and clicks and I loved the look of the animation throughout the game. The dialogue throughout the game was pretty entertaining as well as Rufus is pretty funny and a bit sarcastic as are the other characters we run into during the game.

We took our time playing this game and enjoyed every bit of it. There were definitely times where we had to repeat some of the chapters as some of the puzzles were kind of tricky to get through and I have to admit I got stuck a few times, but we managed to get through it.  Doomsday definitely made me want to start from the beginning of the Deponia series so that I could get to know the full story line and characters a little better.

Deponia, Goodbye Deponia and Deponia Doomsday will be available for $19.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. As a celebration of the completion of the series the Deponia Collection will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with all four installments for $39.99.

Deponia on Nintendo Switch will cost $39.99. The other adventures of Rufus and Goal will be available soon on Nintendo Switch as well and we will keep you posted once the other games are available on Nintendo Switch.

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received Deponia Doomsday on PS4 at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

Sesame Street: Awesome Alphabet Collection DVD (Review & Giveaway)

Awesome Alphabet Collection is being released during Sesame Street’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration. The anniversary will celebrate the timeless lesson that Sesame Street has always taught: everyone, no matter who they are or where they are from, is equally deserving of respect, opportunity, and joy. Throughout 2019, families everywhere can join their favorite furry friends in celebrating Sesame Street’s past, present, and future with a nationwide road trip, celebrity- and fan-fueled social media campaigns, new social impact initiatives, and a star-studded primetime special that will kick off the show’s 50th season.

The spectacular A-Z compilation has a runtime of two hours, including Elmo’s Amazing Alphabet Race as a bonus feature. ABC-themed printable activities round out this one-of-a-kind collection.

I've been a fan of Sesame Street since I was a little girl. My first memories of watching the show was eating breakfast and watching the show at my grandparent's house. These are memories that I treasure as they are no longer with us, but are thought of every single day and the fact that Sesame Street reminds me of my time as a little girl hanging out with my grandparents will forever hold a place in my heart.

Not only does it remind me of my childhood, but I also made sure that it has been a staple in our household with our kids. From my teens to my toddler, all three of my kiddos have watched and loved Sesame Street and if it's on TV, you can bet the older two still sit down and watch and enjoy it, even when they don't mean too because they're too cool, lol.

The Awesome Alphabet Collection is filled with two hours of Sesame Street fun with our favorite characters we've grown to love. I love that they still have celebrity guests on the show and it's fun to watch my four year old sing along with Elmo and friends as they go through the alphabet.

Below is a Sesame Street printable pack which includes alphabet cards, bookmarks, coloring pages, drawing activities, letter tracing activities and an alphabet search. Each printable supports Sesame Street lessons encouraging children's learning about the alphabet and language. Click on the image below to download your free printables.

This title is available on DVD on May 7, but can be purchased for pre-order at,, and other e-retailers.

I'm excited to offer our Just Us Girls readers (US & Canada only) a chance to win your own copy of  Sesame Street: Awesome Alphabet Collection. Never-Contented Things by Sarah Porter (Book Review)

Title: Never-Contented Things
By: Sarah Porter
Publisher: TOR Teen
Publication Date: March 19 2019
ISBN: 978-0-7653-9673-0
Pages: 368

Prince and his fairy courtiers are staggeringly beautiful, unrelentingly cruel, and exhausted by the tedium of the centuries ― until they meet foster-siblings Josh and Ksenia. Drawn in by their vivid emotions, undying love for each other, and passion for life, Prince will stop at nothing to possess them.

First seduced and then entrapped by the fairies, Josh and Ksenia learn that the fairies' otherworldly gifts come at a terrible price ― and they must risk everything in order to reclaim their freedom.

Never Contented Things by Sarah Porter is a very enticing read, one of the best stories I've read in a long time. It's action filled story-line made me aching to read more and the cliff hangers and surprises made it all the better. The main characters were so relatable to real life situations, it felt like an image of society all in one character.

All the plot twists written in this book created an even bigger portrait for the book's image. A mix of fantasy and reality all in a few hundred pages. The story told from different perspectives give it so much mysterious vibes you can't tell what character is telling the true side.

All in all, this was a fantastic read and I'd recommend it to those who like to feel the character's story, readers who love adventure and fantasy as well as readers who like a bit of a reality-fantasy mix.

Storm Boy (Movie Review)

A beautiful and contemporary retelling of Colin Thiele’s classic Australian tale.

‘Storm Boy’ has grown up to be Michael Kingley, a successful retired businessman and grandfather. When Kingley starts to see images from his past that he can’t explain, he is forced to remember his long-forgotten childhood, growing up on an isolated coastline with his father. He recounts to his granddaughter the story of how, as a boy, he rescued and raised an extraordinary orphaned pelican, Mr Percival. Their remarkable adventures and very special bond has a profound effect on all their lives.

Based on the beloved book, Storm Boy is a timeless story of an unusual and unconditional friendship.

Available now in selected theatres FIND TICKETS + PURCHASE. For more information about this film be sure to head to check Storm Boy out on both Facebook and Instagram.

For the chance to be featured on Fan Art Friday you can download colouring pages HERE and print them out for your little one to colour and share on your social media pages using #StomBoy.

I got the opportunity to see Storm Boy and I have to tell you it was such a warm-hearted film, that had me smiling at parts of the movie and also had me crying. The movie goes back and forth from the past to the present as businessman and grandfather, Michael Kingley, is sharing his childhood story to his grand-daughter about how he once befriended a pelican who he called, Mr. Percival during a time where his father and him were still grieving the loss of his mother.

The beginning starts off slow, but you're quickly wrapped into the story as we see how a friendship between a young boy and a pelican become. I love watching films that show the main character bonding with an animal. It's great to see a bonding with a young boy and something you don't see every day, a pelican. We normally see bonding movies with a dog and the main character. It's comforting to watch and my older two kids loved this movie as well.

This is a great film to watch with the entire family that will leave you and your family smiling and I definitely recommend watching it. Not only did we have the opportunity to watch this movie, but we also were sent an amazing package in the mail that included our own Pelican stuffy along with adoption papers from World Animal Foundation in the name of Just Us Girls. We're excited to name our Pelican and receive more information on him.

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received ad advance screener along with the above mentioned package at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

The Deliciousness of Halo Top Creamery (Review)

I first heard about Halo Top ice cream a couple of years ago when I was trying to find a low calorie ice cream to enjoy while trying to maintain a low-carb diet. Back then the only place I could get my hands on it was if I went across the border and shopped in the states. Since I don't go over often, I rarely had a chance to get my hands on any.

Now that Halo Top has been available in Canada for about a year now, I can enjoy the low calorie ice cream whenever I want to treat myself. Halo Top offers you a guilt free treat with only 80-100 calories per pint and only 6-8 grams of sugar.

Halo Top is available in over a dozen flavours:

Vanilla Bean — A powerhouse on its own or served à la mode, the pure simplicity of vanilla bean takes this iconic flavour over the top

Chocolate — Rich, uncomplicated and totally classic — it's the perfect choice for chocolate aficionados

Peanut Butter Swirl — An irresistible treat for peanut butter fiends, this pint blends ribbons of silky peanut butter throughout the peanut butter pint

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough — Swap your raw cookie dough obsession with this classic vanilla flavour sprinkled with cookie dough bites and bits of chocolate

Candy Bar — This perfect pint blends crunchy peanuts, layers of chocolate and caramel swirls serving up those ideal candy bar vibes

Caramel Macchiato —This creamy coffee flavour is packed with caramel ribbons and will have you heading to the freezer, instead of your usual coffee shop

Sea Salt Caramel — Perfect for a luxurious self-indulging treat, this flavour balances sweet and salty with luscious caramel swirls and a touch of sea salt

Birthday Cake — Get that birthday feeling every day with this celebratory treat full of colourful sprinkles and the taste of homemade birthday cake

Mint Chip — A delightfully refreshing treat, this nostalgic minty flavour adds flakes of dark chocolate

Pancakes & Waffles —Each bite of this delicious flavour includes buttery pieces of pancakes and waffles, plus pockets of maple syrup

Oatmeal Cookie — Enjoy the nostalgic flavour of old fashioned oatmeal cookies with a hint of cinnamon and real rolled oats

Cookies and Cream — The perfect marriage of a delicious sandwich cookie crushed and blended into heavenly sweet vanilla. Need we say more?

I had already tried their vanilla bean and chocolate, which I absolutely loved, but recently got my hands on Candy Bar, Sea Salt Caramel and Cookies and Cream and I have to say each one of those did not disappoint. My favourite out of all three had to be the Sea Salt Caramel. Each pint packed with lots of flavour. I was really pleased and I can't wait to get my hands on the other flavours, including their latest seasonal flavour, Blueberry Crumble which is now available in stores for a limited time following their other two seasonal flavours, Pumpkin Pie and Gingerbread House. Their Blueberry Crumble is available and in stores now until the end of May.

You can purchase Halo Top throughout Ontario, Canada in any of their dairy or non-dairy flavours at your local Sobeys, Loblaws and Metro grocery stores. For more information, please check them out on their website and visit them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received vouchers to purchase Halo Top  at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

Unscripted by Claire Handscombe (Book Review & Giveaway)

Title: Unscripted
By: Claire Handscombe
Publisher: Unbound Digital
Publication Date: April 4, 2019
ISBN: 191261894X
Pages: 320

Nobody is a bigger fan of actor Thomas Cassidy than Libby is. Nobody. That's why she's totally going to marry him.

She is going to write a novel, name the main character after Thom, and find a way to get it to him. Intrigued and flattered, he will read it, fall in love with her prose, write to her and ask to turn it into a movie. She will pretend to think about it for a week or so, then say, sure, but can I work on it with you? Their eyes will meet over the script, and fade to black. It is a fail-proof plan.

Except for the fact that he is a Hollywood star – not A list, perhaps not B list, but certainly C+ – and she is, well, not. Except for the fact that he lives in America. Except, too, for the teeny tiny age gap. Not even twenty years! Totally overcomable. All of the obstacles are totally overcomable. It's all about determination.

This was a great read. I enjoyed it very much. I love reading books that give the points of view of their characters so that I get a good idea of what everyone is going through. This book was just that. We got to read from the four main character's POV which was great because it felt like we got to know each one of them so well and were able to see from beginning to end how the characters matured. In the beginning Libby is a mess and all over the place, but by the end of the story you can see how much she's matured.

The actual story itself was entertaining and just a joy to read, giving you hope to follow your dreams because you never know where it might take you.

The writing style of Claire Handscombe is unique and very well written. The way she writes gives you descriptive details of not only the characters themselves, but the settings in the story. As I read the book, I could picture where the characters were and imagine what the places looked like.  This was a quick read that had you flipping the page to see what was going to happen next. A warm and delightful story, Unscripted definitely reminded me of rom-com movie that you could watch with a group of friends.

We're excited to offer one lucky winner a copy of Unscripted. Comment below sharing with us your favorite rom-com movie or book. Not only do you get a chance to win the book on the blog, but be sure to check out our Instagram and Facebook page for a chance to win a copy of the book too!

DIY: Easter Canvas Banner

Happy Friday, friends! It's been so long that we've shared a craft with you, I thought it was about time. Since Easter is around the corner, what better way to craft then with something to celebrate the holiday coming up.

This is a pretty easy and simple craft, especially if you have access to a vinyl cutter. I've been using my Silhouette Cameo for all the crafts ever since I got it for Christmas about four years ago and now that the blog is back in full action, I can't wait to share with you all the things you can create with a Silhouette Cameo. There is so much!

As I said above, this is a pretty simple craft. All you need is the Easter Design that I created, along with a vinyl cutter, canvas material, an iron or heat press and HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl).

I wanted to use some fun Spring colours so I chose lilac and a light teal. I love how the colours compliment one another.

Easter Canvas Banner
Blank Canvas Banner
Heat Transfer Vinyl
Silhouette Cameo (or any other vinyl cutter)
Iron or Heat Press
Vinyl Protection Sheet or towel
Happy Easter SVG

Directions: Add the Happy Easter design into your silhouette cameo software or whatever vinyl cuter software you have. Make sure that you reverse the design when it's in the software so that when you cut it out, weed the design and flip it over to add to your blank canvas banner that it goes on correct.  Add the wedded design to your blank canvas and either with an iron or heat press machine press down on the design. Make sure you have a vinyl protection sheet or towel between the design and the iron or heat press to protect the design. That's it, pretty easy.

If you have a silhouette machine or vinyl machine, please leave a comment below and let me know. I'm looking forward to sharing some of my other designs and crafts I plan on making with my cameo.

Marching into April with DK Canada (Book Review & Giveaway)

My five year old and I had the pleasure of reviewing three books from DK Canada for the month of March and we were both super excited to see what the books had in store for us.

We chose DK Find Out Engineering, DK Find Out Animals and Junior Maker. I give all three of these books five-star ratings for being interesting, exciting and full of fun neat facts and crafts for us to learn and create together.

DK Find Out Engineering allows you to discover the fascinating world of engineering. The book is full of amazing images, fun quizzes, and incredible information. You will learn engineering concepts such as levers, wheels and axles, and pulleys work, and how techniques have changed and developed over time.

The main value of this book is that it summarizes the entire history of Engineering in easy-to-grasp terms, with pictures and quotes combined with a narration of historical periods. They don’t leave out important things or fun facts of history or existing world artifacts, and for the beginning explorer, it's a great place to start. My son and I took the time to read it, and fill or brains with information.

DK Find Out Animals takes readers on a tour of different habitats and homes of animals, showing how each one lives differently to survive. Discover the different diets of carnivores and herbivores, meet lazy sloths, learn how camouflage works, and see how animals have adapted to their environments. Pull out the special cover flaps to see extra information about animals and take a quiz about everything in the book. Filled with bright, quirky images and amazing facts, DK findout! Animals is an exciting trip on the wild side.

DK Find Out Animals is another beautiful book we enjoyed. My five year old son really enjoys learning about animals of the sea and land. It is advanced enough that he will still get many years of use out of it, but engaging and well-designed enough that it holds his interest now. This is exactly the kind of book I would have loved to have as a kid!

DK Junior Maker lets little ones get in on the maker fun with this cool book that supplements and complements the subjects they learn at school, while also encouraging hands-on interactivity and play. With clear step-by-step instructions and photos, young children will learn about a given subject through interactive activities, crafts, and experiments. There are a huge variety of projects to choose from--from watching a homemade volcano erupt or building a storm in a jar to taking a trip back in time to see how the Roman legionaries conquered their enemies. In addition to nature and history, the book also covers wildlife and space, so there's something for animal lovers and future astronauts alike.

This book was so much fun to look through as we love to do activities together. It was fun to look through the book to see that most of the crafts used materials that we have laying around the house. It's colorful and filled with lots of easy craft projects that will not only have my son learning, but also having fun.

All three books that we received are all colorful  and bright, filled with lots of information, but also simplified and laid out with graphics and pictures that are easy to follow.

We would absolutely recommend each book to anyone who has little ones who are curious and love learning. We are so excited that one lucky CANADIAN reader will be able to win all three books in our giveaway. To enter, comment below which book you think your child would love the most!

Eau Thermale Avène DermAbsolu Anti-Aging Skincare Review & Giveaway

I'm always on the look out for new skincare products to not only help keep my skin moisturized, but also one that helps keeps my skin looking smooth. I had the pleasure to review  Eau Thermale Avène DermAbsolu, an anti-aging care line that can be used on sensitive skin. I was quite impressed with the packing and the product bottles, very cute. I was sent the reconturing serum, defining day cream, night balm and eye cream.

I absolutely loved the Avene DermAbsolu Defining Day Cream. The day cream prevents signs of aging and adds moisture to the skin making the skin firmer and fuller. Before I started using Avene DermAbsolu Defining Day cream I had skin that was dry in the beginning of the day and got oily as the day progressed. Due to this combination it was always hard to manage. I would try random products and lotions and it would either be too oily, or make me break out. I needed something to soothe the dry skin but still provide the moisture so the skin doesn't produce oil on its own to compensate and this product does just that. Retailed at $58 and worth every penny.

Avene DermAbsolu Night Balm is excellent. Retailed at $59, it absorbs readily into the skin and doesn’t leave my skin sticky. I would apply it before I go to bed and wake up with a smooth face that feels regenerated and nourished. The Balm is very lightweight and feels wonderful on my face.
Next for me to try was the Avene DermAbsolu Face Serum, I have to admit I have not tried face serum ever in my life and wasn’t too sure how I would like it. Retailed at $62, the face serum is a deep-acting skin serum that solidifies and gives light to the skin that has lost its vitality. Wrinkles and fine lines are reduced and at the same time facial features get more fullness. I didn’t use this every night because it just wasn’t for me, I don’t care for the oily feeling on my face and felt that I would break out. I tried for three days and used this as a serum and applied a moisturizer on top then applied make up, which worked great.

Last to try was Avene DermAbsolu Youth Eye Cream. Retailed at $47, the eye cream relieves swelling and darkness in the eye area. It cream helps to slow down the appearance of age signs, while the unique anti-aging ingredients treat the eye area. I  was very skeptical when trying this product as I have tried so many of these types of creams for dark circles and saw no change. I started this product having dark circles and puffiness and with time my puffiness and dark circles have reduced. I feel like I look less tired and I can say my dark circles and puffiness have calmed down, I can see a big difference.

Overall I have to say I am truly impressed with this anti-aging line of products and I am so excited to be able to offer our Canadian readers a chance to win the all four products! Comment below letting me know which of the four you're excited to try!

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan Book Review

Title: Wicked Saints
By: Emily A. Duncan
Publisher: Wednesday Books
Publication Date: April 2, 2019
ISBN: 1250195667
Pages: 385

A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.

A prince in danger must decide who to trust.

A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.

Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.

In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between dark and light. Wicked Saints is the thrilling start to Emily A. Duncan’s devastatingly Gothic Something Dark and Holy trilogy.

I have to say I absolutely loved this book and am so glad that it's a trilogy because I can not wait until I get to read what comes next in this story. I haven't read a good fantasy book in a while and I'm pretty impressed with this story.

From the beginning you are immediately thrown in to some action. Our main characters and the point of views we get throughout the story are between Nadya, Serefin and Malachiasz, could this possibly be a love triangle in the making? ;)

To start off we have Nadya who is a Cleric, she can speak to all of the Gods. She also has been hiding away in monastery her entire life as she is the only hope for her people to restore faith in the Gods and to bring them back. Then there is Serefin, a blood mage prince from one of the powerful realms in the world and lastly there is Malachiasz, a blood mage from the same realm as Serefin.

Once word gets out of her powers her home and people are attacked, Nadya must leave the monastery and is now on the run since Serefin and his army are after her. Making sure she gets away, her people stay to try and give Nadya and her friend enough time to escape. As she makes a run for it Nadya and her friend get help from Malachiasz.

This book hit me with so many emotions and honestly, I love all three of the main characters, even Serefin. It's crazy, but if you read this story too you'll feel like I did, hate that you love him so much, but seeing what he goes through with his father changes the way you feel about him.

The details of this story are so vivid, you can actually see it as you're reading and that's one of the things I loved about this story, it's definitely a page turner. The ending of this book left me wanting more and I can't wait until the second book comes out. I recommend reading this book if you're looking for a new Fantasy series.

Bumblebee Blu-ray Review & Giveaway

CYBERTRON has fallen. When OPTIMUS PRIME sends BUMBLEBEE to defend Earth, his journey to become a hero begins. Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld), a teenager trying to find her place in the world, discovers and repairs the battle-scarred robot, who’s disguised as a Volkswagen Beetle. As the DECEPTICONS hunt down the surviving AUTOBOTS with the help of a secret agency led by Agent Burns (John Cena), BUMBLEBEE and Charlie team up to protect the world in an action-packed adventure that’s fun for the whole family.

Every Hero has a beginning.....

This movie rewinds back to 1987, the never-ending battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons Seeking protection, the Autobot leader Optimus Prime sends the brave yellow soldier B-127, to Earth. Once B-127 lands in a forest on earth he is seen by a group of men conducting basic training and immediately discovers he is in trouble. B-127 is also being followed by one of his enemies, who rip out the technology that allows him to speak, forbidding him from announcing his purpose or his whereabouts and establishing one of the famous features of the character. B-127 then finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers B-127 and gives him the new name of Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

If you're a fan of the original cartoon like my husband you’d best be geeking out at how this movie keeps faith with the cartoon's visual aesthetic and sound. Bumblebee returns to the characters' classic look. I loved that Bee goes around in his original Volkswagen Beetle form. It makes you feel like a kid all over again.

Out of all the Transformers movies this is easily the best, unlike the others it’s got a good story (not just skeletal looking robots fighting) and out brings your childhood memories.

Bumblebee is a very good movie with lots of action, a few bad guys and tears. This movie was a hit in my family and we've watched it three more times since we got it. We're giving this movie 5 Stars and two thumbs up!

Along with the movie, we were also sent a few Bumblebee toys that had my five year old even more excited about the movie. As we watched, he got to have his Bumblebee toys next to him.

Available TODAY on Digital,  4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. For a chance at winning your very own copy on blu-ray, be sure to enter our giveaway below!

Getting Our Craft On with Klutz (Review)

As a mom and a lover of crafts, I try to do some type of craft session with my kids at least a few times a month. It's always nice to get together and craft, not only do we get to create crafts we love, but it also brings us all together with no electronics and just enjoy one another's company as we create.

So when we were sent a box filled with craft kits from Klutz, I knew the kids and I would have a blast creating. Klutz creates book-based activity kits that help stimulate creativity and critical thinking in kids of all ages. There are kits for the entire family to enjoy.

Each kit includes clear instructions, all the material needed to create the specific craft, and a healthy dose of fun. Each kit builds creative confidence while encouraging hands-on learning. Klutz is a division of Scholastic, the world’s largest publisher, and distributor of children’s books.

Since us ladies here at Just Us Girls have 19 kids between us all that range from less than a month old to young adults, we were sent an assortment of upcoming new Klutz kits for all of our kids to enjoy.

Some of our favorites we got to craft are, My Squishy Soap Dough, Sew Mini Gardens and Make Mini Eraser Aliens.

If you follow us on our Instagram and Facebook, we shared with you a few weeks back on how my four year old got to create with the My Squishy Soap Dough Klutz Jr. kit. This fun kit comes with everything you need and the directions are easy to follow; including three different colored soap dough to create. My daughter loved that she got to create from beginning to end with only little assistance from me.

Another fun kit we were sent were the Make Mini Erasers, we were sent the Cuties which includes glitter, Aliens that include neon clay and Animal erasers that include glow in the dark clay. These kits were a blast to create with and once again, comes with everything you need to make custom eraser for your kiddos to enjoy. Once you create the eraser, you bake it and then you use it as an eraser!  Each set can create up to 15 erasers each. The kit is for ages 8 & up, but with assistance from mommy and six year old Jayden was able to create a few unique erasers.

Sew Mini Gardens is another fantastic kit that we loved and was enjoyed by sisters Joey and Ryanne. Again, this comes with everything you need to create your own little plant plushies. With this kit you can create up to 18 plants and it even comes with a small pot to put one of your plant plushies in. The girls had a blast with this Klutz kit and it was awesome to see that both an eleven and four year old were able to create and craft together, which again makes us happy because this is fun for the entire family.

Klutz craft kits are not only fun for the entire family to enjoy, but these kits teach hands on learning and gives your kids skills to build on. Each kit includes everything you need,  easy and clear instructions to follow and will keep you entertained on your next craft session. We were all very impressed with the quality of each klutz kit and had a blast crafting with our kids.
