An all-new team of Rangers is armed and ready to carry on the Power Rangers legacy!

MY REVIEW
As you guys may already know from our previous reviews of the Power Rangers, my daughter is a huge fan. Not only was her seventh birthday a Power Ranger themed, but she's a huge fan of all of the different types of Power Rangers. So when receiving Turbo Volume One, I knew it would be a huge hit with her because she's seen some of the episodes before. Power Rangers Turbo comes with the first 23 episodes of the Turbo series, which is pretty awesome because she's never seen all of them from beginning to end and with volume one, she's been able to watch it from the beginning and love the characters and rangers even more. Power Rangers Turbo Volume One is now out for you to buy for the Power Ranger fan! You can get more info by checking out Shout Factory.

Black Nativity DVD/Blu-ray Review

Struggling to pay the bills, single mom Naima (Jennifer Hudson) sends her teenage son Langston (Jacob Latimore) to live with his estranged grandparents, Reverend Cornell and Aretha Cobbs (Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett) in New York City. At first Langston resents their strict household, but with the help of new friends — and a little divine intervention — he embarks on an inspirational journey of self-discovery that brings the whole family together.

MY REVIEW
I absolutely loved the musical movie, Black Nativity. Not only was it well cast with so many great actors and singers, but the story line itself was very touching. My husband and I love musicals, so watching one with lots of familiar faces was a bonus. This movie is heartwarming and will have you in tears and smiling too with a bit of humor in it as well. This is about a young boy sent to live with grandparents he doesn't know while his mom tries to get her life together to make a better life for the both of them. You then realize that the she's sending her son to live with her parents who she know longer speaks to. So during his stay, Langston is not only trying to get to know how grandparents and his new surroundings, but he also wants to know why his mom and grandparents aren't on speaking terms. A great family movie that will touch every one and will have you wanting to sing along too. I definitely recommend watching Black Nativity.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty DVD/Bluray Review

With sweeping cinematography and stellar performances THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, tells the story of a timid magazine photo manager who lives life vicariously through daydreams and when a negative goes missing must embark on an incredible true-life adventure. With stand-out performances from Ben Stiller (Night At The Museum, Meet The Parents) Golden Globe** and six-time Emmy Award*** nominated actress Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live, Bridesmaids, How To Train Your Dragon), Adam Scott (Step Brothers) and Shirley MacLaine (Wild Oats), the THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY Blu-rayTM and DVD is loaded with more than an hour of behind-the-scenes special features, including deleted, extended and alternative scenes, featurettes that dive into filming in Iceland and Walter Mitty history, a gallery of exclusive reference photography, and music video "Stay Alive" by José González, and more.

MY REVIEW
I'm a huge fan of Ben Stiller, I think he's pretty hilarious in pretty much every movie he comes out with. With The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, not only did this movie have some humor to it, but it also had many different adventures that Walter dreams about and then one day he's put to the test to actually go out and live a real adventure. Although it wasn't as funny as I'd hoped it to be, it still was a good movie and was better than I expected it to be. The story didn't take long to progress and was very entertaining. I think Ben Stiller did a great job in playing many different characters and how the movie went back and forth from dreams to reality, I thought the movie was smooth and enjoyable.

Celebrating Earth Day w/ @KandooKids Flushable Wipes

Today is Earth Day, a day where we all demonstrate support for environmental protection. You can show your support by not only help cleaning up around where you live, but also by using green products that can help our environment.

One of the ways our household has been showing our green every day has been by using the Kandoo Flushable Wipes. We have been using these flushable wipes for years, ever since my oldest started potty training and I'm excited to share with you all that Just Us Girls is now a Kandoo Ambassdaor for the Kandoo products. I'll be sharing with you all for the rest of the year about the amazing products from Kandoo and how we use them in our home.

Now, as I stated before, these flushable wipes have been used in our house ever since my oldest daughter who is now going on nine, started potty training. These wipes not only cleans 30% better than toilet paper, but they're also flushable and biodegradable, which is great considering you don't want to use anything that could clog up your toilet, sewer/septic.

Along with being safe for your toilet, they're also safe for your little ones to use. These wipes come in Sensitive as well that are hypoallergenic so that all little ones can use. I remember when both my little ones started potty training. My daughter loved getting on the potty and being a big girl. The Kandoo wipes helped a lot because they were moistened with lotion and weren't hard on her bum and they were easy for her to use.

I'm very excited to not only share with you the Kandoo Flushable Wipes, but that we'll get to share with you over the rest of the year all of the products from Kandoo. Be sure to keep an eye out for more posts (and some giveaways) about us sharing our experience with Kandoo and all of their products!
Disclosure: I receive special perks as a part of my affiliation with the Kandoo Ambassadaorship. The opinions on this blog are 100% my own.

Pound Puppies: A Perfect Match DVD (Review & Giveaway)

Not every puppy is perfect for every person, and the Pound Puppies are dedicated to making sure their furry friends end up in the right hands! Join Lucky, Cookie, Niblet, Strudel and Squirt as they continue on their mission to find a person for every pup with the release of Pound Puppies: A Perfect Match on DVD. Featuring five fun-filled adventures.

MY REVIEW
My kids absolutely love the show, Pound Puppies. They're still shocked that this is a remake of a cartoon that was out when I was younger. They always ask me if so and so were in the original series. It's cute to see how interested they are in both the new and original series.

A Perfect Match not only is a great reminder for not just kids, but people in general to learn that not every dog is right for a person. They have to fit into your family just right and with A Perfect match the Pound Puppies are trying their best to help puppies get the perfect match for them. We just recently got a new pup in our family a couple of weeks ago. His name is Max, he's a Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) and I have to say, he definitely fits perfect in our family. He's silly and goofy just like the rest of us and I loved hearing my son make the connection from watching this DVD and the new addition to our family.

You can now get Pound Puppies: A Perfect Match on DVD for $9.99 by visiting ShoutFactory.

Book Review: The Cellar by @NatashavPreston

Title: The Cellar
By: Natasha Preston
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Publication Date: March 1, 2014
ISBN: 9781492600978
Pages: 347
When sixteen-year-old Summer Robinson goes missing one night, her family, friends and boyfriend are devastated. Nothing ever happens in Long Thorpe, so the disappearance of a school girl shocks the whole community. The police waste no time in launching a search and investigation, but with nothing to go on and no trace of Summer, hopes of finding her quickly fade.
Colin Brown, is a thirty-year-old solicitor living alone after the death of his mother. He suffered a traumatic and abusive childhood, and is left with no sense of right or wrong. Desperate for the perfect family, Colin, referring to himself as Clover, turns to drastic measures to get what he wants.

MY REVIEW
I have to say, this is one story that is not like others. This is a story about a teenage girl name Summer who ends up getting kidnapped and put in a cellar with three other girls. Not only are we reading what she's going through every day she's trapped in the cellar, but we also get to read what the kidnapper, Clover is going through as well as Summer's boyfriend, Lewis.

I certainly couldn't stop reading this story once I started reading it. Not only did I love how we got to hear from a three person's point of view, but I was also terrified, disgusted, sad and so many emotions while reading the story, but could not put this book down. It's that interesting and you want to see what happens and if Summer gets out and reunited with the love of her life. It's very vivid to where you can imagine exactly the layout of how the cellar is and how each girl looks.

I think Natasha Preston did a great job with this story. The only part I would have changed is a more vivid ending to when Summer, Rose, Poppy and Violet got out of the Cellar. We only get small parts as we're reading again from three people's point of view. Other then that I absolutely was intrigued and loved that this story had a happy ending with Summer reuniting with her family as well as Lewis. Definitely a story that will have you in tears as you're reading both Summer and Lewis' point of view.

An Annual Easter Egg Hunt! #KinderMom

Easter is just around the corner. One of the things I love about this time of year is that we get to spend time with our family as well as eat delicious food. Each year is pretty much the same for us, we usually dye our Easter eggs on Good Friday and relax Saturday. Easter Sunday morning the kids are up and looking at what the Easter Bunny has brought them. This year the Easter Bunny got a little help from Kinder Canada as we were sent some delicious Kinder Chocolates as well as a couple stuffies to add to the kid's baskets.

After breakfast and a light lunch is served, we then  head on over to my in laws house for some great food and company along with the kids annual Easter Egg Hunt.

This Easter Egg Hunt gets better each year as the kids gets older because my mother in law comes up with awesome goodies to put in the kids plastic eggs they hunt for. Not only does she give them a bag starting them off with a couple eggs, chocolates and five dollars, the eggs the kids get to hunt for has every thing from candy to loonies and toonies and pieces of paper that have little love notes along with other prizes written on them. The kids all get so excited. Even the older cousins still get in on the hunt. Although they try now more to help out the younger kids, it's always fun to see all the kids out in the backyard running around looking for the eggs.

Once all the eggs are collected we all go inside and the kids count and open up their eggs to see and/or read what else they won. My mother in law has a piece of paper that has everything written down and calls out and asks who has a loonie, toonie, etc. Once the hunt is over it's time for us to have dinner.

It's traditions like these that will be long lasting memories for my kids that they'll always remember and look back with a smile. I can't wait to share that with our new addition that will be here this Summer.

Along with helping us Kinder Moms fill our kiddos basket with some goodies, Kinder Canada is also partnering up with Children’s Miracle Network and will be providing 12 baskets to CMN hospitals. Kinder will also be donating another $25,000 to help support this non-profit organization that's dedicated to saving the lives of children. I don't know about you, but if this is definitely a company that I fall in love with over and over again, not only is their chocolate delicious, but they do so much to help others, it warms my heart.

Reading In The Spring With @Raincoastbooks (Review & Giveaway)

As we say goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring, it seems we only have a couple more months left before the kids are out of school for the Summer. I'm noticing a bit of less homework for my little ones, but one thing that the husband and I make sure they keep up with no matter how little homework they have is reading.

We have our kids read for about 20 minutes a day about five days a week. On days when they aren't reading, we love finding family books that we all can enjoy together and read as a family.

We were all pretty happy when we got a delivery from Raincoast Books. They sent us a collection of Spring picture books from Chronicle Kids that were both appealing from the pictures and from the stories as well. We were sent, I Didn't Do My Homework Because, Lately Lily, At The Same Moment Around The World, Busy Bunny Days and Here Comes Destructo-Saurus!

Each book was filled with beautiful colorful printed pictures along with great easy to read and follow stories that kept my kids focused on reading and actually enjoying each book.

My daughter's favorite has to be Lately Lily, a book about a girl and her adventures traveling. She said it reminded her of when we go to our yearly trips to California to visit family and all of the new places she gets to visit and learn about.

My son of course loved Here Comes Destructo-Saurus! I think he loved how cool the dino looked more instead of how he was acting. He mentioned a couple of times that making a mess and throwing a tantrum would get that dino in time out.

We definitely enjoy seeing our kids read and hearing how excited they are during the book and once they finish reading their book. The fact that they go straight to their bookshelves in their rooms now and pick out a book they want to read before bed makes me even more proud. My daughter has started chapter and series books and so far she is loving that she can read more than one book to enjoy her favorite characters.

To find out more about these Spring Books and how to add them to your collection, be sure to check them out on Amazon, Kids Books and Indigo. Also be sure to follow RainCoast Books on Twitter for news about up and coming new books that both you and your child will love!

Playtex Training Time Soft Spout Review #MomTrust

As my son is getting older, it's time that we start transitioning him from a bottle to a sippy cup. One thing I love about Playtex is that they have cups that help transition your little one from four months and up and as you all know from reading our past experience with Playtex, that their products are something I trust and know I can depend on.

They have an entire line that can help your little one say goodbye to their bottles and hello to the next stages of becoming a toddler. Their line includes:

Training Time: – TrainingTime cups are designed to help transition from bottle to sippy cup and come in spout and straw formats for ages 6 months+.

AnyTime: – AnyTime cups are designed to be easy for little hands to hold so your child easily controls the flow of liquid. Available in a variety of spout, straw and spoutless formats for ages 9 months+.

PlayTime: – PlayTime Insulated cups are break proof and 100% Leak-proof guaranteed*. Insulated to keep drinks cool.

TravelTime: – Your little one is all grown up and ready for their next adventure! TravelTime Insulated cups are 12oz and insulated to keep drinks cool.

We decided to go with their Training Time Soft Spout that's for babies four months and older. Not only was this a great cup to start with, but it was also pretty easy for my son to get the hang of using it. We have tried a few different ones, but he definitely prefers this sippy.

It lasts long, is very durable and quite simple when it comes to cleaning and use. I love that he is able to hold as the cup is easy to grasp and small enough to fit in his hands. The fact that it's dishwasher safe is a bonus because it's already very easy to clean if you didn't want to use your dishwasher or didn't have time to wait through a cycle.  I would consider this cup for babies that are old enough or your toddlers if you're still searching for the right cup to start with.

The Playtex Twist ‘n Click cups are available at all major retailers across Canada.

Also for more information on new products from Playtex, be sure to follow them on their Facebook!

Enchiladas Perogies with Kraft Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia #MemorableMelts

When it comes to cooking a new or an old and favorite family meal, anything that has cheese in it is a winner in our household. By now you are all aware that my family’s favorite food to eat is Mexican. The meals are delicious, cheesy and just enough spice to kick the meal up a notch.

Well, I decided to do something different and put together both my favorite Mexican meal with a Canadian favorite, Perogies. My family loves both and I thought I’d give it a go mixing the two to see how they would turn out using the new Kraft Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia. The new shredded cheese comes in three different flavors, Creamy Mozza, Creamy Heard & Garlic and Creamy Mexicana.  The Mexicana was the perfect flavor to use with this meal.

Kraft has blended their Kraft Shredded Cheesewith a Touch of Philadelphia to give their devoted customers a soft and creamy melt that will make our favorite meals even better and let me tell you, using the Mexicana cheese did just that for my Enchiladas Perogies. Not only did we get the creaminess of Philadelphia Cheese that we love, but as shredded cheese was even better!

The steps to making the Enchiladas Perogies was very easy and took little to know time. Below is the recipe:

Enchiladas Perogies
Ingredients:
1 Package of  Cheese Perogies
1-2 Tablespoon Butter
1 medium Onion
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
1 can Enchiladas (red) Sauce
2 cups
Kraft Creamy Mexicana Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia
Green onions

Directions: Preheat oven to 350F. In a frying pan add your butter, let it melt on medium heat and then add your chopped up onion. Let cook for a few minutes and then add your unthawed perogies. Once golden on each side place in a casserole dish and season to taste with salt and pepper. Open can of red enchiladas sauce and pour over the perogies. Add your cheese and chopped up green onions and place in oven until cheese has melted. 15-20 minutes. Take out of oven, let cool and enjoy.

In celebration of Kraft’s new Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia, Kraft is having a twitter party and you all are invited.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Giveaway)

In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Ben Stiller plays a timid magazine photo manager, who lives life vicariously through daydreams. Now he must embark on an incredible real-life adventure when a priceless negative goes missing. One of the places that his adventure takes him is the beautiful Nordic country of Iceland.

In honor of the film’s Blu-ray and DVD release on April 15th, we’re bringing you a few facts about the country that you may have never heard along with a giveaway for one of you Just Us Girls readers.

1. Icelandic language has been relatively unchanged for the last 1000 years.
Modern inhabitants of Iceland speak a language almost identical to that spoken by the country’s original Viking settlers in the 9th and 10th centuries.

2. There are 130 volcanic mountains in the roughly 40,000 square miles that make up Iceland.
18 of them have erupted in the last 1000 years, and the largest one covers nearly 8% of the country’s surface.

3. Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital city.
Iceland is so far north of the equator that the country experiences nearly continuous daylight during the summer months of June and July.1

4. Icelanders love movies.
They watch more films, per capita, than the people of any other country in the world.

5. Iceland is one of the most energy-efficient countries in the world.
70% of the energy used by Icelanders is produced by the country’s natural geothermal and hydroelectric resources.

DIY: Washi Tape Clothespins Magnets

I have a confession to make. I am one of those people who collects washi tape. I can't help it and yes, some times I have no reason to buy them at all, but the beautiful designs and the reasonable prices always get me.

They've definitely become a trend over the last couple of years with lots of fun ways to use them. For those of you who don't know what washi tape is or what the fuss is about, washi tape is a high quality masking tape made of rice paper. You can find them online at Etsy, Ebay and different party and craft stores. You can even find them at Walmart, Michael's and I've even seen them at Dollarama. That was a good deal that day.

There are many ways you can use Washi Tape with crafts. I've seen tons of ways on Pinterest, Instagram different blogs and on Youtube. Since I haven't shared a DIY post in a while, I wanted to share one that I found really easy and simple to do. Washi Tape Clothespin Magnets. This is a cute way to decorate your clothespins and also a cute way to add something different on your fridge. It's easy, simple and doesn't take long to make.

Look how cute they look and it literally only takes you a few minutes to put them together. Here are all the supplies you'll need:

Clothespins, Washi Tape and Magnet Tape. Now, if you don't want to make these into magnets, that's fine. You can still make your clothespins look cute. You can use them for hanging up photos, keeping your papers together, you can even use it as a card holder. There are tons of ways to use these cute, fun clothespins.

For the directions, all you do is place your clothespin on your washi tape like shown above and then once it's placed, you then cute off the excess tape and you're done. Now, if you're adding your magnet tape all you need to do is cute a piece to fit behind the clothespin and simply place it on there. That's it!

There are so many different washi tape designs to decorate your clothespins. This is even a great craft you can do with your kiddos or a craft party with a few ladies. Simple, easy and so pretty!

Dial Kids Body & Hair Wash Review

Bath and shower times around our household can be a bit hectic. We normally go through lots of bodywash and shampoo, so when I received the new Dial Kids Body and Hair I was pretty excited to see that they came in larger bottles.

Not only was I excited to see that the bottles were bigger, but also that it now comes with a pump, which has been a lot easier for the kiddos when taking a bath and shower. I love that it's convenient enough to where it's two products in one. With it being for both the hair and body, this allows my kids to only have to use one product while getting squeaky clean and I'm loving that with the pump we can control how much comes out and how much is being used. My daughter certainly loves it. She takes showers and this makes it so much easier for her to clean her body and wash her hair. A couple pumps and she's good to go.

Dial Kids Body and Hair comes in both the Peachy Clean, which is a great transition for babies who are going into their toddler stages and also Watery Melon. Both are for hair and body and are also tear free, which will allow you to feel more comfortable when your kids are using it. I absolutely love the smell of both scents and also love how it doesn't make my kids skin dry. They both have sensitive skin, so these have been perfect for them.

Dial Kids Body and Hair is now available in stores across Canada and retail for around $6.50-$7.99 a piece.
