Getting Clean w/ Provacare Feminine Foaming Wash! (Review & Giveaway)

As women, we tend to have a lot of up keep when it comes to how we look. I know with being a mom that works from home, I sometimes can slack when it comes to the makeup department, even though I absolutely love getting dolled up. It doesn't happen to often. I do however make sure that when it comes to my personal hygiene I use products that not only keeps me smelling and feeling refreshed, but products that are affordable and products that actually work.

I was sent a few bottles of ProVacare, a feminine cleansing foaming wash that can be used as part of your daily routine to keep good hygiene. It helps prevent irritation and odor and contributes to a healthy vaginal balance, especially during menstruation, during pregnancy, while treating a vaginal infection and when used after intercourse.

This seemed pretty perfect for me considering I'm nine months pregnant. I'm due really soon so I've been using this over the last week and will continue to use it after the baby is here to help keep that area clean. I've already put a bottle of ProVacare in my overnight bag so that I don't forget to use it while staying at the hospital.

I love that it's a foam soap. This is perfect because it can be used without a cloth or sponge and it makes it easier to use if you're using this on the go. If you are using this while camping or a place where you don't have time to shower, to use all you have to do is apply directly and wipe with a moistened towel. It's unscented and hypoallergenic so any woman can use it. I also love that it's made with witch hazel water and natural Aloe which helps soothe sensitive skin for those of us who may have it.

Provacare Feminine Foaming wash can be purchased at most retailers and retails for around $6.99. You can find out more abour ProVacare Feminine Foaming Wash by checking them out on their website www.provacare.ca.

GIVEAWAY:
We have teamed up with Provacare to provide one lucky Just Us Girls CANADIAN reader a ProVacare prize pack valued at $60. This prize pack includes:

1 Provacare Soothing Feminine Foaming Wash = $6.99
1 Provacare Probiotic Vaginal Care Capsules = $28.99
1 Spa Kit = $20.00
Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received a bottle of ProVacare Feminine Foaming Wash at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

Getting Ready For Baby w/ @EvenflobabyCA #carseatsafety

This time next week I will be a mom again to a newborn baby girl. It's been seven years since we've had a newborn in our home. So to say that I'm excited and nervous at the same time is an understatement. I know it will all come back to me as soon as I'm holding her.

Since it has been seven years since we were preparing for a newborn in our house, we had to make a checklist to make sure we had everything we needed for our little bundle of joy. So I was very excited when I was asked to be one of Evenflo's Ambassadors for their Car Seat Safety Program. I was quickly excited because not only will I be sharing information to you awesome readers of Just Us Girls about car seat safety, but I would also be learning myself as it's been a long time since I had a little one in a car seat.

Part of the Car Seat Safety Program included a car seat of my choice. I decided on the Evenflo JourneyLite Travel System. What I love most about this car seat and stroller is light it is. Now, just because it's light doesn't mean that this won't protect your little one.

It's very durable and strong, but I love that when I become a mom to a newborn again having a stroller and car seat with me again won't be a headache. I remember my son and daughter's travel system from when they were babies and it was always a pain not only carrying the car seat in and out of the car, but also collapsing and getting the stroller in as well. With the JourneyLite Travel System's push-twist and fold method to close up your stroller, I can tell you now that this isn't the case and that it's very easy to do.

I also love that this travel system has everything that I need while the baby and I are out. There's lots of storage for me to put my keys, a cup holder for a water bottle for myself and bottle for baby and the storage basket under the stroller is big enough to not only fit the diaper bag, but also my purse and extra bags if we're out shopping.

While setting up our travel system, I made sure to read the owner's manual of the rear facing car seat, not only to refresh my memory, but since it's been seven years I'm sure the requirements have changed. I know one thing I didn't know before is that car seats have expiration dates on them. Did you know that? Companies do this so that current owners and buyers know the potential risks of using car seats and booster seats that may be missing important parts, labels or instructions.

Here are a few other things I've learned listed below, just in time before the new baby arrives, thanks to Evenflo and their Infant Only Car Seat Usage Checklist:

  • The infant seat is designed to be used rear facing only.
  • Many parents/caregivers may be tempted to place the infant seat facing forward to allow them to view their child more easily. This is a serious error and places the child at significant risk of injury/death in the event of a crash.
  • Do not use the rear-facing seat above the weight or height limits designated by the manufacturer. Once the child outgrows the seat, move to a rear-facing convertible seat with a higher weight rating.
  • The harness needs to be snug to hold an infant down in the seat so he or she does not slide up in a crash and become ejected from the car seat.

For more information about Car Seat Safety, be sure to check out Evenflo online and follow them on Twitter for more Safety Tips. Also be sure to check back in here as we'll be sharing more tips throughout the next few months as well.
Disclosure: I am a Evenflo Ambassador and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group; however all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Preparing For Baby Number Three This Summer! #MomTrust

It's been pretty busy and hectic in our house this Summer, to say the least. We just celebrated my son turning seven last weekend and are shy of a week away from our little girl being here, my hubby turning the big 3-0 a few days later and at the end of next month we are celebrating my daughter turning nine. So things have been pretty busy over here trying to plan parties and get ready for the new addition to our family.

Although I've been pregnant this Summer and we haven't really had time to travel this year, I think the kids are still enjoying their time off from school and enjoying the sun. I've still managed to make sure that they are keeping active and getting out of the house and enjoying their Summer before things change for all of us. We've been to our local splash pad numerous times, had lots of family barbecues and there has been plenty of birthday parties and play dates they've been enjoying, not to mention swimming at a few family member's house.

We still have a little over a month left before school is back in session and life is back to normal, so although we're expecting our third child soon, I'm still excited to see what the rest of the Summer brings for my family. We normally host an outdoor movie night. We haven't done that this Summer yet, so I'm thinking this would be the perfect party to host with a few of the neighborhood kids and family members before they all head back to school.

Even though our Summer hasn't been spent traveling like we usually do, I think its been going pretty well having stay-cations and doing local activities with the kids. Next Summer we will definitely get back to traveling and going on trips, but for now we can't wait for baby number three to arrive!

What have you and your family been doing this Summer?

Celebrating Canadian Flicks On Netflix ! #StreamTeam

This month we celebrated the birth of our country. Whether it was celebrating with friends and family at a barbecue or by yourself in the comfort of your own home, another Canada Day has come and gone. We actually celebrated by heading to our town's annual Ice Cream Festival and Fireworks. We had a blast and can't wait for next year's celebrations.

Did you know there are lots of Canadian shows and movies that are on Netflix that were either filmed in Canada, take place in Canada or were created here in O, Canada?! I was surprised and proud by the many shows and movies that I came across that are inspired by Canada some how. Some of the movies and shows I've seen on numerous times and just didn't know that they had any affiliation with Canada, but sure am glad to know that they do.

I use to watch, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? and Goosebumps as a kid and love watching them now with my kiddos, although what I thought was scary back then is not scary at all, it's awesome to see my kid's reaction to the same shows I use to watch.

If you're still celebrating Canada this month, be sure to check out the following films and television shows on Netflix for both younger and older kids:

Are You Afraid of The Dark?
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Goosebumps
Johnny Test

Team Umi Zoomi
Super Why
Franny's Feet
Caillou

What are your favorite Canadian inspired shows/movies on Netflix?

Rio 2 Blu-ray/DVD Combo Review

The cast of the animated hit comedy Rio returns — along with a new flock of all-star voice talent, including Bruno Mars, Kristin Chenoweth, Andy Garcia and more — in this high-flying sequel for the whole family. The party continues when Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), Jewel (Anne Hathaway) and their three kids take a walk on the wild side and embark on a colorful, comical, music-filled journey through the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit into his new surroundings, he goes beak-to-beak with the villainous Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all: his father-in-law!

The RIO 2 Blu-ray™ and DVD brings everything you loved from the first Rio, but with even more laughs, excitement and music! Not only will kids get nearly an hour and a half of bonus features on the RIO 2 Blu-ray™, but they’ll also get their groove on with two downloadable bonus songs from the RIO 2 soundtrack: “I Will Survive” and “Poisonous Love,” both performed by Gabi (Kristin Chenoweth) and Nigel (Jemaine Clement).

MY REVIEW
My family was huge fans of the original movie, Rio. So when we were offered a chance to review Rio 2, I was more than excited to have this be our next movie for movie night. The entire family absolutely loved it. Not only was it nice seeing some of our old favorite characters back on the screen again, but we also loved meeting a few of the new characters that were introduced as well.

One of the best things about the Rio movies is the music. It was awesome getting to hear some of the new songs that they had in the movie and to see how catchy they would be with my kiddos. Not only was the movie awesome, but the hilarious humor in this movie did not let us down. It kept us all laughing and entertained from beginning to end. Definitely a movie for the entire family that would be perfect to watch this Summer. Rio 2 is now out on both DVD and Blu-ray.
Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I received a Rio 2 on blu-ray/dvd at no cost for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

InnoTab 3 Baby – The Learning App Tablet (Review & Giveaway)

Last Summer Kristin shared with you all her and her daughter's experience with the VTech InnoTab 3. Today I want to share with you another great product from VTech, which is their InnoTab 3 Baby. This is a tablet that is designed for toddlers as young as one year old to kids that are up to the age of nine. Although my little one isn't here yet, so she won't be using this tablet for a while, I thought I'd try it out on both my six and eight year old.

I love that there is now a tablet designed for toddlers. With families now having tablets and smartphones, it's only right that there is something for the toddlers to enjoy. This is the perfect electronic that's safe and fun and will introduce your child into the world of electronics.

One thing I love is that this tablet ranges from ages one to nine, so all three of my kids will be able to enjoy this tablet. Another thing I love is how durable the tablet is. With its removable hard case, it will definitely be hard for your little one to drop and break this tablet. The tablet comes with an easy to grab handle along with a stylus that is designed easy for little hands to grab on to, this InnoTab 3 Baby will make the perfect gift for your little ones first birthday. Not only will this be a fun toy for them to play with, but it will also be teaching them great motor skills when holding the tablet as well as using the stylus.

I love that when you first turn on the tablet, you can personally customize it with your child's name. You can also choose a picture for your profile or take one of your little one. The tablet comes with 18 apps to start off with that teaches your little one shapes, numbers, sign language and much more. It comes with an MP3 player and the best part is, you can add your kid's favorite tunes on the tablet for them to enjoy. It also comes with a built in camera and microphone, which your little one will definitely enjoy. My kids have already made a video for their little sister to enjoy when she's old enough to play with her tablet.

When you find something that all of your kids that are different ages can use and play with, you get. My two kiddos have been having a ball taking pictures and leaving messages for their soon to be sister.

Not only are there games and apps included on the tablet, but there are also hundreds cartridges you can purchase that include some of your kid's favorite characters from movies and TV shows, you can also downloadable apps you can get by logging in to the Learning Log online. The tablet comes in two colors, pink and blue and is retailed at $79.99. Be sure to head on over to VTech Canada's website to find out more about the InnoTab 3 Baby as well as other products.

Easy Travel Storage Containers From Playtex! #MomTrust

We're in the middle of Summer and I'm sure most of you, if not, some of you, are going on awesome family trips with your little ones. When you do plan a Summer Vacation, are you one to travel by vehicle or is your destination far enough away that you take a train or a plane?

Although my family and I have decided not to travel this Summer, due to baby number three on the way, that doesn't mean we haven't traveled locally. And whether you're going to a place near or far, you're going to always need snacks for your little ones. We've been hitting up our town's Splash Pad a couple times a week and when we're not there we're in a family member's pool.

When packing snacks, you'll need a durable container that not only will hold all of your goodies for your kiddos, but will also be easy access to get to. That's why I was pretty excited to try both the Playtex Twist 'n Click Bowls as well as the Twist 'n Click Snacker.

Both are durable, dishwasher safe and microwavable safe and hold up very well with my kids. The Twist 'n Click Bowl comes with two bowls with lids that are 100% leak proof. They are designed for food on the go, which is perfect when you have two little ones that get hungry while you're at the park or while you're driving from point A to point B.

They're perfect for both dry and wet food. We used them for packing goldfishes, mini pretzels and fruit, which worked out pretty great. I also love that these containers are stackable, so they are easier to organize and don't take up too much space in my cabinets. The Twist 'n Click bowls are for babies four months and older.

The Twist 'n Click Snacker are for little ones 12 months and older and I have to say these bowls are great. I love the fact that the lid helps prevent a mess when you're on the go with your little one. I tried it out on my six year old son. Yes, he's six, but he's a kid and he makes a mess when eating snacks just like all kids do.

What I love about this bowl is that it will be very easy for a toddler to grip and old on to while munching on their snack. I also love that the top has easy access for little hands for your little one to get to their snack easier. I love that when packing up your snacker, you can add the top to it so that it's leak proof, so it doesn't make a mess in your diaper bag or snack bag when you're on the move. Also dishwasher safe, you'll be happy to have these easy to use containers that will make your life with a little one a bit easier.

For more information on the Twist 'n Click Bowl, Snacker and other Playtex items, be sure to head on over to Playtex's website

Keeping Your Baby Cool During The Summer #disneybabyCA

I'm not sure if you guys saw the news last week on our Instagram page or if you've noticed the new badge on the side of the blog, but I am happy to finally announce that Just Us Girls are apart of the Disney Baby Mom Ambassador! I am super excited about this, especially since my new addition will be here two weeks from today. I absolutely love Disney and have been a customer of them for years. For my first born we did her nursery using the Disney Princess Theme and with my son we did Disney Cars theme. I'm super excited to share that we're doing a Minnie Mouse theme with the latest addition.

I'm always trying to keep my kiddos cool during the hot Summer months. Making sure they have sunblock on, wearing a hat, having fun with water and keeping them hydrated with plenty of water to drink are some of the ways we like to keep cool during the hot months.

Since my new addition will be here in a couple of weeks and with a month and a half left before Fall is officially here, here are a few tips from Disney Baby that I will be using with my newborn and thought I'd pass along to any of you readers out there with little ones to keep cool.

TIPS ON KEEPING BABY COOL THIS SUMMER:

1) Embrace Layering: Make sure you don’t overdress your baby. Loose-fitting, lightweight clothes are best, and light layers mean you can add and remove clothes as necessary.

2) Stick to the Shade:  Stay in the shade when you can find it and create some when you can’t. Buying an umbrella stroller is a great way to ensure that your little one is always protected from the sun.

3) Keep Baby Hydrated: If you’re spending a lot of time in the heat, you need to spend a lot of time nursing as well. Like you, your baby gets dehydrated and needs to replenish fluids. If your baby is older, make sure you always have Sippy Cups ready at hand.

4) Find Some Air-Conditioning: Malls, movie theatres and libraries all have air conditioning, and offer a great place to take a break from the heat. Not to mention, they’re a great place for both you and your baby to find entertainment.

5) Have a Splash: Letting your baby play in a paddling pool or on a splash pad is a fun and easy way to cool them down. If you don’t have access to one of these, try a cool bath, or simply sprinkle some water on your baby’s hair.

During the Disney Baby Mom program, I'll be sharing with you lovely readers monthly tips, new products and on occasion, giveaways from Disney Baby. Just Us Girls is one of twenty Canadian blogs that are apart of this program and to welcome us all, we were sent a lovely package that contains some awesome goodies for our little ones.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner On The Go with @MapleLeafFoods #PROTINIS! (Giveaway)

As a mother of two (almost three) who not only is a stay at home mom, but a mom who works from home, it's hard to find time for myself, especially when it comes to making sure I'm eating breakfast and lunch and the occasional snack.

I may be up a couple hours before the kids get up, but when I get out of bed, brush my teeth and wash my face, I then start typing on the computer before I get a chance to eat anything. My second alarm goes off and it's time to wake the kids for school, make them breakfast and while they're eating make their lunch and set their clothes out for them. By the time everything is done, they're on the bus and I sometimes forget to make sure I eat breakfast. Life gets busy and my days seem to fly by. By the time the kids are ready for bed, so am I.

Now that the kids are home for Summer break, although I don't have that second alarm to wake them for school, I still find myself sometimes not eating breakfast and getting as much work done as possible before they're up for the day.

That's why I was pretty excited when I had a chance to check out and try Maple Leaf's Protinis. Packed with lots of protein, these are the perfect bite size snacks I need when I'm either on the go running errands or while I'm working in my office. They're perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The protein in Protinis helps slow down the digestion of food, keeping you feeling fuller, longer, and protein snacking can support physical activity and weight management goals by building and repairing muscles and tissues.

I got to try both their Oven Roasted Chicken and Cranberry and also the Honey Garlic Chicken. Both are delicious and just the perfect snack I need to make sure I get enough protein throughout my day. I absolutely loved the combination of both the dried fruits and chicken. What I love best about them is that you can eat them as is or you can dress them up by adding them to your average salad, you could even make a chicken wrap with them by adding a tortilla and some veggies. There are a number of different ways you can eat Protinis, but I do love that they're ready to go right out of the package.

PROTINIS are available throughout major grocery stores across Canada retailing at $4.99. They are available in eight different flavors:

Oven Roasted Chicken
Sweet Thai Chili Chicken
Mild Salsa Chicken
Honey Garlic Chicken
Oven Roasted Chicken and Cranberry
Oven Roasted Chicken and Superfruit
Oven Roasted Chicken and Mango
Oven Roasted Chicken and Apple

For more information on PROTINIS be sure to check out the video below as well as following Maple Leaf Foods on Facebook and Twitter.

Camping This Summer? Don't Forget To Bring Kandoo!

One thing that's been bugging me this Summer while being pregnant is that we didn't get to go on our annual camping trip with the kids. Although they totally understood that mommy would be very uncomfortable sleeping in a tent on an air mattress for two days, I was still bummed out that we didn't get to go. I'm so looking forward to next year!

We're campers. We love to pack up for a couple of days, set up tent and hangout near the campfire and spend some quality family time without the distraction of the internet. It's a great bonding experience with the kiddos and I can't wait to do it next year with the new addition to our family.

While packing for camping can be stressful, it's always good to create lists to remember what you need to bring. I normally have a few lists on hand. One that has all the food categorized under breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another one that has our clothes listed and one that has all of our personal hygiene products listed as well.

When camping, one of the main things to remember is to try and stay sanitized as much as possible. Since you don't have a regular bathroom to take showers or go potty in, it's good to bring products that can make your trip a bit easier. One product that's perfect for camping is Kandoo Hand Soap. This is not only perfect for your little ones, but for us adults too. The soap is easy for kids to handle and I love that it's a foam soap with bright colors to let our kiddos know when they have the soap all on their hands for cleaning. It's not too big and the perfect size to bring when traveling/camping.

Here are a few tips for our kids about washing their hands. A lot of these are for when you are at home, but I think they're perfect for when you're camping as well.

  1. Wash hands before eating
  2. Wash up after playing outdoors & after school
  3. Always wash after using the bathroom
  4. Take the time to wash more frequently when you (or someone you know) has a cold, the flu, or allergies (especially if that someone lives in your household)
  5. When washing, use warm water and soap like Kandoo Hands to build a frothy lather
  6. Wash fronts and backs of hands, and between fingers
  7. Wash for at least 15 seconds or about the time it takes to sing the Happy Birthday song twice through, then rinse well
  8. Dry hands on a clean towel

To find out more about Kandoo Hand Soap and other Kandoo products be sure to check them out online at www.kandookids.com

Canada Is Now A Selfie Nation! #SkittlesSelfie (Giveaway)

With today's society and social networking, if you don't know by now what a selfie is, you must be living under a rock. Where have you been these last couple of years? Selfie's have not only become the popular picture to post on social networks, like, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter, it's also become that popular that the word and meaning has landed in dictionaries as well.

Selfie:
"A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website" (via Oxford Dictionary)

I have to admit, I've taken a handful of selfies myself and have shared them on my personal social media pages with friends and family. Here's one of my favorites that I took a while back:

I'm happy to say that Canada is now, officially, a Selfie Nation. I know what you're thinking, "I can't believe we weren't official before now." With how many selfies I see posted daily from Canadian friends and family members on social networks, it's hard to believe, but you heard it right, we're finally a Selfie Nation!

With the help of Skittles and actress Melinda Shankar from Degrassi, Canadians officially broke the Guinness World Record for the most Selfies taken in one hour and it couldn't have happened on a better day, Canada Day! This record use to be held by the U.S., but not anymore.

Thirsty Thursday: Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade

There's nothing that says Summer more than a cold glass of fresh Lemonade. We love it and we love trying different variations of lemonade with different fruits in our house to shake it up a little bit. On our last Thirsty Thursday, I shared with you a Mango Lemonade and in the past before we've shared Strawberry Lemonade. All were delicious and loved by our entire household.

Today I want to share with you Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade. Let me just say, I thought the mango lemonade topped it all, but this is just scrumptious and did not last long in our house at all. Fresh lemons and raspberries, a perfect combination, served with some cold sparkling water, it definitely gives your drink a kick that you'll remember and want to serve for guests during barbecues and family picnics.

As I mentioned before, we were sent a huge package from Bernardin's that not only included the mason jars from yesterday's post, but also there new Four Pack Drinking Mugs. The perfect amount for my mini family. The kids absolutely love drinking out of these mugs. Not only do I love the look of how cute these mugs are, but I also love that you can add a cute top to them using the Bernardin's sips and straw lids.

They're dishwasher safe and are a really great quality and not heavy at all to pick up. That was something I was worried about with the kids drinking out of them, but they were perfect. You can take these mugs just about anywhere with you. And wouldn't they be cute to serve on a nice Summer afternoon on a girls night in?! For more information on Bernardin's and all of their products be sure to check them out online and you can reach them on their social networks pages on Twitter and Facebook.

3/4 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of water, divided
2 Cups Fresh raspberries
1/2 Cup fresh orange juice
1 3/4 Cup lemon juice

Directions: In a pot, mix together your sugar and 3/4 cup water and bring to a boil then stir for about 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.

Next mix in the remaining water and the raspberries in a blender and blend until it's well combined. In a pitcher, add in your raspberry mixture, orange juice, lemon juice, sparkling water, and simple syrup. Stir to combine and serve.
