Canada Is Now A Selfie Nation! #SkittlesSelfie (Giveaway)

With today's society and social networking, if you don't know by now what a selfie is, you must be living under a rock. Where have you been these last couple of years? Selfie's have not only become the popular picture to post on social networks, like, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter, it's also become that popular that the word and meaning has landed in dictionaries as well.

Selfie:
"A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website" (via Oxford Dictionary)

I have to admit, I've taken a handful of selfies myself and have shared them on my personal social media pages with friends and family. Here's one of my favorites that I took a while back:

I'm happy to say that Canada is now, officially, a Selfie Nation. I know what you're thinking, "I can't believe we weren't official before now." With how many selfies I see posted daily from Canadian friends and family members on social networks, it's hard to believe, but you heard it right, we're finally a Selfie Nation!

With the help of Skittles and actress Melinda Shankar from Degrassi, Canadians officially broke the Guinness World Record for the most Selfies taken in one hour and it couldn't have happened on a better day, Canada Day! This record use to be held by the U.S., but not anymore.

Those who weren’t able to participate in the making of Canadian Selfie history can help maintain Canada's official Selfie status by…...taking more Selfies. You can do this by visiting SkittlesSelfie.ca. All you have to do is upload your selfie, ‘Skittles’ your photo and then share them via Facebook and Twitter to remind the world that Canada is the Selfie capitol. Check out my selfie below after getting it, "Skittles."

GIVEAWAY
