Thirsty Thursday: Bottoms Up Cherry Limeade

Yesterday was officially the first day of Summer and boy did it feel like it. It was almost 100 degrees out here. So for that special ocassion I whipped up a small and delicious treat for myself and the kiddies to drink from a book I'll be reviewing for you all next week called, Taste of Home Cooking School Cookbook. Let me just say right now that the drinks I've found in this cookbook will be mentioned and shared throughout this Summer for our Thirsty Thursday segment. They all look so yummy and the last few I've made I've been 100% pleased with.

So without babbling on and on here is the recipe to this week's Thirsty Thursday. I hope you enjoy!

Bottoms Up Cherry Limeade
Serves: 8

Ingredients:
3/4 cup lime juice
1 cup sugar
2 liters of carbonated water, chilled
1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
8 maraschino cherries with stems
8 lime slices

In a large bowl, combine lime juice and sugar. Cover and refrigerate. Just before serving stir carbonated water into lime juice mixture.

For each serving, place 1 tablespoon cherry juice in a glass. Add crushed ice and about 1 cup of lime juice mixture. Garnish with a cherry and lime slice.
