I absolutely love this time of year. The weather is
getting colder and the Holidays are literally around the corner. In the Summer,
I like to do outside activities with my kids, but in the Fall and Winter one of
the things I love to do with my kids is bake together. Whether it’s something
small or large, baking with the kids is so much fun. I start them off with
everything we need to bake with and towards the end I let their imagination
take over and just watch them enjoy themselves and have fun.
My son is a huge Disney’s Cars fan. I guess that’s sort of my fault. I remember being pregnant with him and deciding that his room would be decorated in the Cars theme. So it was only a matter of time before he was truly a fan without any influence from mommy or daddy and that he is. From the Cars movies, Maters Tall Tales and countless Car’s toys and stuffies, I can say that without hesitation that my son is a true fan and absolutely loves the characters in both the Cars movies.
Over the weekend I had a great opportunity to create
some Rice Krispies Treats with my little ones and decided that since my son is
a huge Cars fan I’d have the kids create their own race cars made out of Rice
Krispies.
Making Rice Krispies treats with my kids is always a
fun and easy activity and gives us a chance to spend more quality time with
each other. Since you don’t need much and you don’t really have to cook
anything, this activity is great for families to do together where your kids
can let their imagination and creativity run wild and that’s exactly what my
kids did when creating their race cars.
Although my
son loves the main character, Lightning McQueen, in the movie, Cars, he decided
to create his race car after the character Francesco Bernoulli. Creating the race cars was so much
fun and not hard to do at all. Although we think we may have made the cars a
bit too big, nevertheless, we had a great time creating these race cars and the
kids had so much fun decorating the cars with different icing and candy.
There are so many different things you can create out of Rice Krispies
treats, which provides your family with hours of fun quality family time. Nothing brings warmth into our hearts quite like
celebrating all the good that life has to offer around the holidays! I definitely had fun with my kids creating the
treats and watching them decorate. This Holiday season, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal would like to partner with you and your
family to turn delicious treats into toys for children in need across Canada.
Taking part is
easy peasy:
(1) Make a
toy-shaped treat using Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
(2) Take a
picture of your treat
(3) Upload your picture
to RiceKrispies.ca. For every original photo of a treat uploaded to their site, Kellogg’s
will make a donation of $20 to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army will then
use the donations to buy to buy toys for children in need across Canada for the
holidays.
