Summer is here and the kids are out of school. I think I'm more excited about not making lunches for the next two months and in denial of the kids getting ready to say they're bored and want something to do, lol. Knock on wood, it hasn't happened yet and we're going on week one.
For the most part when I'm not working with work or the bloggy I try to either make the kiddos a new game to play outside or make them a little treat. When I received a package from the lovely people over at Truvia, I knew exactly what I wanted to make for the kids and went right to it.
Truvia is a calorie free sweetener from the stevia leaf that can replace your every day need for using sugar. You can use it in coffee, baking, cooking, sprinkled on your fruit, Summer drinks, etc. I've been using it in my coffee over the last couple of weeks and haven't had a need to add any sugar at all. It's delicious and you can barely taste the difference.
For every 1/3 teaspoon of Truvia you get the same amount of sweetness you would with sugar if you were to have 1 teaspoon. This is definitely a sweetner I would recommend. Which is why I decided to create a delicious drink for the kiddos and I that includes Truvia in the recipe. This week's Thirsty Thursday is a delicious and refreshing Strawberry Lemonade. Not only did my kids absolutely love this, but they couldn't tell the difference when using Truvia instead of sugar.
You can get Truvia in in a spoonable jar along with their two boxes of both 40 and 80 count and at a reasonable price. For some reason my husband got a kick out of the spoonable jar, lol.
I hope you all are enjoying your Summer and be sure to let us know if you make this Strawberry Lemonade and how it turned out for you!
