Taco Pizza

Every now and then I stumble upon a recipe that I try and that both my family and I absolutely love. This is becoming more frequent with the help of Pinterest.

A couple of months back I found a recipe called, Taco Pizza. Now, at first I thought of Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza, but this is different and if you ask me ten times better. I can't even tell you how quickly this was devoured by myself, my husband and my two kids, one that includes a VERY picky eater.

Seeing how my family loves both pizza and tacos, this was a perfect match for us and has been made a couple of times since. With the Taco Pizza you can add as much or as little toppings as you want, I say the more the better.  I plan on making this again for New Years and for Superbowl. It's definitely a crowd pleaser!

TACO PIZZA
Source adapted from Real Mom Kitchen
Makes 12 main dish servings or 48 appetizers.

Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
2 (8 oz.) cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans (I used the jalapeño kind)
2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup sliced black olives
4 green onions, chopped

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Brown ground beef and drain. Add taco seasoning to the ground beef as directed by the package.
Unroll crescent rolls into rectangles. Place in ungreased cookie sheet. Press the dough over the bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust. Bake at 375 oven for 11 to 13 minutes or just until golden brown.
In the meantime, microwave beans in a safe bowl for 1 minute. Once crust is done carefully spread beans over warm crust to create a thin layer.
Then add your cooked taco meat, add cheese, tomatoes and green onion. Return to oven for 3-6 more minutes until the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
