Last weekend the girls and I got together for a Girls Night In Poker Party. We were all pretty excited since normally the guys are the ones playing poker together, but that night it was all fun and games with the girls.
Our party was sponsored by Ladbrokes Casino, an Online Casino that is a safe and secure site offering more than 540 games including roulette, blackjack and slots. They were kind enough to send us their party pack which included games, party supplies, a few Ladbrokes merchandise and we also got an iTunes voucher to buy some great songs to listen to during our girls night in.
We started the night off with ordering pizza to go along with our chips and dip and jalapeno poppers. For drinks we were given two books, 200 Cocktails and The Definitive Cocktail Book to find new drinks to try. We decided to make Sex on the Beach and Cuba Libre. Both drinks were delicious, but I kept going back to the Sex on the Beach for refills.
It was much needed time to just sit back and relax and enjoy one another's company. Complete opposite of what the guys do. Although they have fun in their own way, us girls aren't competitive at all. We were slapping each other high five when one of us would win a round and even though we tried to bluff a couple of times, it was all good because at the end we all just wanted to have fun.
Although Ladbrokes Casino supplied us with the items we needed to enjoy our night, I have to give it to Maggie and her husband because they have an awesome poker room in their basement. Their room includes a poker table, nice comfy chairs, poker chips and an awesome backdrop that makes you feel like you're in Vegas.
The night ended with a bang, we had a first and second place winner. The prizes, Ladbrokes Merchandise, which was a traveling poker set and a poker coffee mug. Both very useful and I'm sad to say I did not come in either place, but I did have fun. After prizes were handed out the night ended with some much needed dancing since we had new music on our iPod thanks to the iTunes voucher.
