Thirsty Thursday: Strawberry Banana Mango Smoothie

I've been on a smoothie kick lately. I don't know why, but a smoothie in between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner is so delicious and it helps keep me away from junk food too.

The day before yesterday was pretty nice outside, so after catching up on things around the house, I headed to one of my local Farmer's Market and picked up a few bags of fresh fruit. I love the taste of fresh fruit, not to mention helping out our local Farmer's is always a good feeling. I picked up some mangoes, strawberries, blueberries and a few different veggies that would be for dinner since we fired up our grill that night.

While my food was all cut up and ready to get on the grill, I decided to make the family and I a nice refreshing smoothie. I remember seeing one I liked on Pinterest and got on my phone to look up the ingredients. It's so simple, very easy and doesn't include any yogurt or milk and I still get the think consistency I love in my smoothies.

This smoothie is perfect for a warm and sunny day and will be made a few times during this Summer since it was super easy to make, very refreshing and took only a couple of minutes. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
First Layer:
1 mango, peeled, pitted and chopped
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
3 medium ice cubes

Second Layer:
1 banana, chopped
10 strawberries, cut in half
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 medium ice cubes

DIRECTIONS
In a blender, puree the mango, orange juice, lemon juice, honey, and ice cubes, until smooth, and divide between 2 glasses, and set aside.

Rinse blender, then puree banana, strawberries, lemon juice, orange juice and ice cubes, until smooth, and gently pour into glasses. Pour slowly and try not to mix the layers, so you can tell it's two different layers. Garnish and enjoy!
