While flying to his father's funeral in rural Appalachia, an intense storm causes Marquis (Omari Hardwick) to lose control of the plane carrying him and his family. He awakens wounded, alone, and trapped in Ms. Eloise's (Loretta Devine) attic, who claims she can nurse him back to health with the Boogity, a Hoodoo figure she has made from his blood and skin. Unable to call for help, Marquis desperately tries to outwit and break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon.
During these unprecedented times finding different ways to keep you and your fam busy while cooped up at home can be quite the task. For our fellow thriller/horror movie buffs looking for a skin curling, keep you on the edge of your seat film that you can snuggle up in a warm blanket and enjoy on these cold wet nights, we’d like to tell you about the movie Spell.
Spell is a thriller/horror film that takes place in the present-day. The movie stars a young family with a father that has no choice but to face the demons from his past after the death of his estranged father, and this time, it's taking the whole family with him. This movie keeps you guessing at every scene while it works through the deep secrets of witchcraft. This movie gave us Us and Get Out vibes and kept us on our toes.
My hubby and I absolutely love horror films and find ourselves diving into two to three a week. So when we got the opportunity to review a new thriller/horror movie we were so excited. We would highly recommend this movie to all who want a great experience with a movie that captivates you at every scene. This movie will definitely be added to our arsenal of horror/thriller go to’s.
